Female albums released in the 21st century that were RIAA Diamond certified:

 

 

2015: 25 - Adele (11x Platinum)

2011: 21 - Adele (14x Platinum)

2010: Teenage Dream - Katy Perry (Diamond)

2008: Fearless - Taylor Swift (Diamond)

2003: Fallen - Evanescence (Diamond)

2002: Come Away With Me - Norah Jones (Diamond)

2002: Up! - Shania Twain (11x Platinum)

2000: Oops!...I Did It Again! - Britney Spears (Diamond)

 

Notes: 1989 is already Diamond but has not been certified Diamond yet. The Fame Monster (Reissue) would've been 11x Platinum + if the RIAA counted The Fame and The Fame Monster together.

Shania co-wrote one of Britney's tracks on that album so technically she has two Diamond certified albums associated with her!

GGGB is 6x plat and last certified in 2018

ANTI is 6x plat and last certified in 2023

Loud is 5x plat and certified a month ago in 2024

 

I guess Rihanna's biggest shot at a diamond album is Anti since that one is still charting moderately well. But it won't be this decade.

I guess Rihanna's biggest shot at a diamond album is Anti since that one is still charting moderately well. But it won't be this decade.

However, GGGB is eligible for 8x platinum currently or extremely close to it - it's at ~7.8M units according to that popular chart account on twitter. 

 

ANTI is eligible for 7x platinum. 
 

Her first diamond album will be with GGGB or ANTI.

I think speak now is like 8x platinum and Red is 9x platinum.  So red will eventually get there.  
 

Reputation was on streaming within three weeks so I don't think would have made that much of a difference.

EDIT: I just checked Britney is at 5xPlat (might be going onto 6xPlat since it wasn't in her most recent update) and ITZ is either elligible or is at 4xPlat.

Her best chance would be if Slave 4 U or another single from her 3rd era smashed out of nowhere, but it isn't happening.

Albums get updated certifications when the artist releases new material because such updates cost. So Gaga not having one yet is presumably because Interscope is going to update it once her new album drops or the era begins.
