When she announced CLOVER Music in August of 2017, it was in a joint signing to Interscope Records, where Aaron Bay-Schuck was appointed after leaving Atlantic Records. In 2019, JoJo announced she had transferred (with CLOVER) to Warner Records (then Warner Bros. Records), where Bay-Shuck became active CEO in October 2018 (announced in October 2017).

I wish she's written something about it in the book (most probably not). Again, not the decision I would have made, but I believe her belief in Bay-Schuck is what made her do it. But I'm having some faith her new releases will be fully independent.
