Imagine if they got all the ceremonies in HQ/HD on Paramount+, or even tried to sell them to Netflix/Amazon/Disney+. They could get $12.50 for the whole thing, $13 if they haggle. Amazon has VH1's Behind the Music, so it's not unheard of. They could release three shows a week during the summer to build up hype for this year's ceremony. Licenses are expensive and they don't want to pay, especially now that they are in financial trouble. If MTV were still mainstream, we probably would've gotten most of the past VMAs on DVD or something, just like the NFL/NBA does with their legacy media.
