TomTom Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Asking where the video is for months and then complaining about it is not it . Yes, there was no real plot and she didn't lip-sync the words, but she's literally an independent artist who apparently did not even plan to release a video for this at first and yet aesthetically it looks very well done. Definitely her most budget since the Raising Hell video which was intended to be a big lead single, please don't forget we are coming off an entire era with nothing but "visualizers" and one "video" I still haven't fully understood to this day and another era of Magic Seed productions before that (minus Raising Hell). It's not a perfect video, but it's a step in the right direction and definitely more than I expected (and I'm sure she'll take the feedback and learn from it). 11
bearman Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Yeah as many have pointed out, it seemed like she already shot all the videos and they're all connected. Joyride is giving introduction. 1
smartalek22 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The video has some cool shots but sorry it's not engaging at all like why are we introducing random characters halfway through the song... Yeah as other users have said I can only see it as being as part of a series of videos for the era... she should really have it as PART 1 or something cuz as a video alone it just makes no sense 2
SpaceOddity Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I respect the hustle to get the video funded given her indie status. That being said, this came way too late to help the song and the fact that it's really not that great of a video to compel anybody to watch this more than once I don't know that it was worth it. One more set of her in the red outfit at the beginning just serving and lipping throughout the car chase scenes could've done wonders.
Uncatena Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I really like the concept and visual style of the video, but the flow of it is odd and doesn't compliment the song as much as I wanted to. still, its really cool and I like the potential concept of having the videos connect. 1

May Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago great song, video is bad and confusing i just spent 3 minutes watching other people driving cars and waving weapons at kesha's car ? for What? why do they want her dead so badly ?
TomTom Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm not disagreeing with many of the points raised, but I think the expectations for this are largely misplaced. I admit I'm biased because I have always thought that music videos are overrated and I tend not to watch most music videos more than once, but we can objectively say that Kesha has NEVER been a visual artist. Most other pop stars deliver more in that department than her and it's probably fair to say that visuals simply aren't a priority for her (budget constraints aside). In my opinion, C'Mon is the only truly great video in her videography, followed by Raising Hell to a lesser extent. The former received high $ coming off Die Young's success, while the latter was (embarrassingly) intended to become a hit in RCA's view. There is a pattern that her few good visual moments always came from a big label push and not really from herself, which is why the quality of her videography really took a nosedive once RCA stopped giving a sh*t. So, if you take into account that this indeed seems to be an introduction to other videos from this era that are connected and it's more aesthetically pleasing and high-budget than anything else from the last 5 years, you can tell she went out of her comfort zone for this to please her fans (notwithstanding the plot limitations and other stuff, but you have to see the bigger picture).
bearman Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Her best video is Praying and her best visual direction were the Gag Order visuals. I think if the theory of a series is true, then this era might also be visually interesting. 3

I think the Gag Order visualizers were great with respect to what they were aiming for, but they are still visualizers at the end of the day and not actual videos (and I pretend that Only Love video doesn't exist). Praying was good, though I'd say visualizing a ballad or a sad song like Praying and most of Gag Order and coming up with a concept for an upbeat pop song are two different things which is why I was focusing on those. 1

Like there was never going to be a video for this but once she started video treatment for other song(s) she had this idea? It seems you're right! https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/kesha-joyride-video-1235174730/ 7 hours ago, collin said: I'm curious why it says AML 1 if that is the case. They panned to it specifically I feel like there's something we're supposed to be picking up from that My dear friend and car lover @keshafoto said it's just a license plate for a car called "Aston Martin Lagonda". 3
loveisdead9582 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I like the video. I do wish she'd have lip synced a bit but it was fun. It definitely seems like it's part of a series of videos which would be fun. 1
