The budget and direction are at least giving. I get what she was going for, but overall it feels poorly executed. Seems like it is part of a series of videos though, and that's exciting. I wish she had kept the look she had during the beginning of the video, but I am glad this song got a video treatment, it at least deserved it and the budget looks promising for her future as an independent artist.

Definitely looks like she filmed this back to back with something which would explain such a high budget. She might've waited to film back to back to avoid leaks.

Clearly the plot of this is a metaphor for her experience in the music industry. Her being freed from a "9-year prison sentence" and running from people who are doing the best to make sure she fails lets us know she is prepared for the uphill battle ahead.

 

The idea of a 'joy ride' takes on a whole new meaning through this video. The spirit of the video feels like an in between of where she was and where she's going. She's showing us what she is capable of. I'm fully interpreting this video as a reintroduction to Kesha as we know her. It's building block #1. I think this is meant to be the first piece of many to come, maybe a trilogy of videos?

 

I've gotten the impression from the first week she dropped this song that Joyride was always meant for her to test the waters, gauge public interest and see how people react to her new vibe, and tweak accordingly. This video is no different. She will be paying attention to our reactions, seeing how this visual performs for her and go from there with it.

 

Lastly. What do yall think AML on the license plate stands for? I fear that may be the album title.

Loved the video concept, the execution could've been better. would have loved to see her lip the song inside the car. i think the editing was the problem but overall it's still a solid video and great cinematography and shoots.

I think it's the editing throwing it off, if it was edited to match the chaos of the song it could've been great. Still lovely visuals and shots though!
