Descending Posted July 5 Posted July 5 It's making noise, isn't it? I'm very happy for her, she deserves! And I think trough this era she'll get even more that she deserves! Spoiler Even though I loved the production of the song, these lyrics aren't her best at all... not sure how I feel about this collab with that other songwriter... it's just a fun song and I can't wait to have what's next!
Popular Post TomTom Posted July 5 Popular Post Posted July 5 NPR did a feature on this, calling it a "Frankensteinian pop masterpiece" https://www.npr.org/2024/07/04/nx-s1-5029509/keshas-independence-day-the-pop-artist-releases-her-first-single-on-her-own-label 19 2
Musicmajor Posted July 5 Posted July 5 How is this doing on Tik Tok? I am seeing a lot of buzz on twitter, even instagram! If this catches on Tik Tok, it'll be a certified summer smash (I pray). 5

Funnyfatty Posted July 5 Posted July 5 I love it too! But tbh i don't like the lyrics. bich/rich/ditch sounds a bit cringe lol but i hope this will be a major comeback! Can't believe we have the debut era original Kesha back
shark_heather Posted July 5 Posted July 5 SHDJSJSGEISVSGACABAUQHSHSOSPSNSVSBXKEUSGS I LOOOOOOVE IT I really hope it does well 2
TomTom Posted July 5 Posted July 5 I don't really get the complaints about the lyrics, they are very quintessential Kesha . The "mother" line is debatable, but apart from that, I don't see what's questionable about the lyrics. 2
SoldierofLove Posted July 5 Posted July 5 125k streams on YouTube Barely anyone uses YouTube compared to other services so I don't know if that's good or bad but it's something! 2

TomTom Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Billboard Friday Music Guide "Editor's Pick": Quote Editor's Pick: Kesha, "Joyride" The release of Kesha's "Joyride" on Independence Day was purposeful: the new single represented the pop star's first song as an independent artist, following a years-long legal battle with Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald and the fulfillment of her initial label contract. With that in mind, "Joyride" is both an exhalation following unhappy circumstances and a smart back-to-basics move, in which Kesha can wrap her arms around a sly, hard-charging party track and reintroduce herself. "Joyride" bounces along with carnival-esque production and wacky sound effects, but Kesha matches its exuberance, altering her voice to punctuate every punchline and having a blast on the giddy hook. https://www.billboard.com/music/pop/friday-music-guide-zach-bryan-lana-del-rey-quavo-1235725255/ Paper Magazine "Sound Off": Quote Kesha - "JOYRIDE" On her first single since being emancipated from Dr Luke's label, Kesha is as weird as ever – seriously, when has a pop song ever sounded like this? – and I wouldn't have it any other way. https://www.papermag.com/sound-off-lana-quavo#rebelltitem7 5
