MoonGoodandHappy Posted June 25 Posted June 25 I mean, she's fun, beautiful, with amazing and chill music videos and already 2 smash hit, "Espresso" and "Please Please Please", is she in her Teenage Dream era ?
Selegend Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Sabrina is slaying and her era is so huge! But with streaming era it's different. Even with the fact that Espresso and PPP are smash hits, they're avoidable for those who don't want to listen to it. Something that was way harder pre-streaming era. So it won't ever feel as big as. 1
Witnessed ET Posted June 25 Posted June 25 I don't know if her smash hits will have the same level of impact or staying power as TD's smashes because of streaming era and how short everyone's attention spans are….but if there's anyone who can have a Teenage Dream era among the new pop girls with fun music and personality, it is Sabrina imo.
PMKARDASHIAN Posted June 25 Posted June 25 No the world loved Katy. Sabrina was a nobody and is seeing some success. She'll fade back into irrelevance before long. if she's in her TD then we need to, as a society, ricochet her directly into her witness/smile era 1
Onyxmage Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Shes been making music for 9 years and now people care about her?
Blue Monday Posted June 25 Posted June 25 (edited) No shade because I've come to enjoy Sabrina a lot, but you guys need to stop getting carried away with streaming stats. She's finally nabbed two big hits after several album cycles of trying to break through, which is commendable but outside of (maybe) Espresso, she hasn't released anything as ubiquitous or as massive as any of the Teenage Dream singles. The landscape is nowhere near being close to what it was when Katy was around so I doubt Short N' Sweet will be as massive or have as long of a tail as TD merely because of the climate it's coming out in. We've also seen massive singles precede pretty middling album debuts; I don't think this will happen with this album but let's wait for the album to drop before making these kinds of comparisons. JoeAg Posted June 25 Posted June 25 I can very much see it honestly, let's hope the third single is the same level of pop excellence
UnusualBoy Posted June 25 Posted June 25 It's hard to compare because with TD Katy was coming off OOTB which has 3 singles and 2 of them were HUGE. Sabrina is coming off an era that did ok-ish. Also, it's different eras, nowadays is hard to get hits post-albums unless you remix the songs so we'll have to wait until august to see how the era pans out.
