EarStyle Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 But wow @ SZA! Buzzed-about singer/songwriter SZA nets her first top 10 album with the arrival of her debut full-length studio effort, Ctrl, at No. 3. It bows with 60,000 units, of which 25,000 are in traditional album sales. The set was powered by streams, as the title earns 33,000 SEA units (equating to 49.52 million streams for the songs on the album). The remainder of its 60,000-start is comprised of TEA (2,000 units). Ctrl is SZA’s second top 40-charting effort, following the No. 39 peak of her mixtape Z back in 2014. ! It's funny how all the new wave of It R&B small niche base girls Jhené, Kehlani, and SZA all debuted at #3 with their debut albums. Jhené Aiko - Souled Out 2004 70k Pure Album Sales Kehlani - SweetSexySavage 2017 58K SPS SZA - Ctrl 2017 60k SPS The future!

h.u.r.r.i.c.a.n.e Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 wait so SPS doesn't count for Billboard anymore?
fridayteenage Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 (edited) Looks like as of 2014, the biggest dropout from the BB200 was Nothing But The Best - Frank Sinatra, which went 3-OFF cuz it had a short Amazon 99 cent discount in 2012. Edited June 18, 2017 by fridayteenage

Frawls Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 SZA did so well. Last prediction I had seen she was 10K less.
Ivan_brit Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Everyone trying to shade Katy .... Watch by the end of the year she would have one of the biggest debuts by a female of 2017

Monster Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Damn the album is already slipping out on iTunes. I wonder if her physical sales will keep up.
brianc33710 Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 I know I'm probably in the minority, but I'm thankful BB finally realized an album that doesn't sell enough to chart on it's own no longer will. I'm sure this will be a big factor in how releases are rolled out from this point going forward.
leon86 Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 why are people saying good for her? these are terrible numbers especially with the tour bundles and having released 3 singles

Track equivalent album (TEA) units and/or streaming equivalent album (SEA) units will no longer contribute to a various artists’ album ranking and unit count. In the latest tracking week, neither Epic AF or Summer Latin Hits 2017 sold enough in traditional album sales to rank on the Billboard 200." Does this affect all soundtracks? Cause A Star Is Born deserves to go #1.
