The7thStranger Posted June 25 Posted June 25 ...Jesus Christ, your girl wrote an awful, immature album. Get over it. 5
Club classic Posted June 25 Posted June 25 (edited) what's quite worrying is the constant trans and homophobia from swifties here and on twitter and a mod coming here saying they'll give WP-s for people who call TTPD panned… Edited June 25 by Club classic 4
Club classic Posted June 25 Posted June 25 it's very telling when you can't land a point or defend an album without resorting to belittle queer people. and your billionaire fave is the victim again when all you do is drag other women down constantly 8

Listening to Brat, it is literally the type of music targeting the lowest denominator gays. When we talk about white gays listening to the worst music you have ever heard, that basically summarises the whole Brat album to a T. I know a lot of gays are wanting to become music critics due to their love of music in general, but honestly the taste level of the gays in music cannot be trusted. read this after yourself and have a think about why do you feel this way. i know people overuse the words 'internalised homophobia', but your post honestly reeks of it. 4
Draper. Posted June 25 Posted June 25 How could critics not like TTPD if it's #1 for 10 weeks?1!?1! 4
worldwide angel Posted June 25 Posted June 25 answering OP, uhm coming from an angel who frequently laments at how insufferable charli can be, brat is amazing. its an new lens of the confessional electronic music that many pop stans love and pop girls admire cowboy carter is amazing. its one thing to not like country music or have an issue with the slow songs but bey put her whole CowCussy in that album - plus the essayist nature of the record surely impressed critics like it did audiences not the white gays throwing each other under the bus complaining about people catering to white gays as a swiftie is hilarious there's an argument to be made about how pop is viewed through whiteness and how gays believe that said white perspective is the only perspective that matters but to use that to put charli xcx down when... i won't say they're two sides of the same coin bc charli is mixed but they're printed on the same currency music journalism has much to critique about but it doesn't start with the reception of TTPD we could talk about how sites like pitchfork literally rip off viral hate tweets to include in their "reviews" of "the music"

alfonso12 Posted June 27 Posted June 27 No, you just don't get those albums because as a Taylor Swift fan you are most likely tasteless.

Letemtalk Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Two things can be true at the same time. 1. There are some albums getting review scores 5+ points higher that they might have received in 2014 or 2018. 2. Taylor Swift has probably been the biggest beneficiary of Metacritic review score inflation in recent years. But apparently the problem here is: On 6/23/2024 at 12:59 AM, Meev said: music journalism are being skewed towards to taste of gay men, especially in the area of pop music. There are also a lot of female reviewers, but it seems that there is one fanbase that hates them too. Spoiler https://x.com/pitchfork/status/1584398037522460672
Slayn Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Yeah they may be getting a bit out of touch, considering the reviews for TTPD should have been far more scathing considering how poorly written, disgustingly predictable and unremarkable it was. 3

Love4Janet Posted June 29 Posted June 29 I've known critics are out of touch since they gave rave reviews to Self Titled and Lemonade. Two TERRIBLE albums 1 1
