How do you handle rudeness from the service staff (cashier/waiter/manager)?

There have been so many occasions when people from service staff like cashiers, waiters and all like that were harsh on me for no reason. I get that their jobs are SUPER hard and it works on their nerves but what did i do to deserve that  :deadbanana4:

One time i I had a doctor's appointment and she was like very psychotic. She was almost screaming at me and acted like i was stupid when she asked me a question and i was thinking about the answer (maybe she thought i was thinking so long?) then when it ended i needed to ask couple more questions and she was like "your time is up i don't wanna spend my time on you you're not alone" and so. Something similar happened when i was in cafe and waiter was like super nervous. i was thinking about what i was going to order and then she like "can you be a little faster?" and acted like i am the most hated person in her life. She sighed loudly and was tapping her notebook with a pen for some time. And I was only in that cafe for like two minutes:rip:

my friend also told me that he and his wife was in some office and they needed some documents or whatever it was. and they witnessed the NASTIEST treatment of an old foreigner who wasn't a fluent speaker of their country language but he was like needing some documents too and managers here were like "what you say? can you speak normally?" and so no one in that office wanted to help this person, he was walking from manager to manager and they were all like "oh not him again" and they were kicking him out every time. and so my friend broke off and shouted at them because he was angered by such a boorish attitude. which is not a good look either :/

of course jobs like that are HELL and of course people can get too tired. but i don't deserve to be treated such way either. what should i do in situations like that? because i am that person who gets their whole day ruined because of this harshness and rudeness, i can't just get this out of my head on my daily prayer to Jelena Karleusa.

thoughts?

I usually smile at them but behind their back, I will secretly email their management and they will be taken care of.

Sweet revenge ever for me :suburban:

Don't tip when it applies. If you're in a country where tipping is not the normal, act silly and clueless just to **** with them and maybe get them fired

As for people like the doctor, **** them up or report them to whatever is above them, maybe your healthcare provider or something.

I understand that you want to "help" people in the service industry and not make their jobs harder, but when they go out of their way to be assholes you absolutely do not have to put up with their bullshit just because. You "help" by being a decent human being, which yes is the bare minimum, but there should be some degree of reciprocity. I would like to think that I would've ****** that doctor UP, cause hell naw

As Whitney would say " I don't think of her"

I wouldn't take it to heart. You will only spend a little part of your time at those places (supermarket, cafe, office, etc). You already know their jobs are hard, can you imagine what it is to deal with people's complaints every single day? If it doesn't affect you in any significant way, then why making it such a big deal?

Now, if it goes beyond rude or it becomes a personal attack, then now that's a good reason to talk to a manager or to stand up for yourself.

I leave them a nice hefty tip of Monopoly money which I always have handy for such an occasion :gaymuscat:

By giving it back to them.

Reporting to the manager feels kind of like snitching and isn't as satisfying imo :clack:

When I was stupid and rebellious, I'd usually debate them back, throw hands if they put theirs on me first. But these days, I am too fly for giving the same energy back. Maybe they had a bad day, so it's just whatever lmao, hope you'll feel beter after that, no tip for that also too though,  idk :keir:

I honestly don't run into these kinds of rude/nasty service workers very often unless I'm at the DMV or a very crowded bar. Health care facilities are a given, a lot of them just become desensitize towards people's suffering. It sucks, but that's how they are and I'm just rude right back to them like it's a game.

There was a recent instance at the DMV where the woman was extremely rude and simply trying to get through me like I was a mere number. I was specifically told to go to this line just for her to tell me to go back to where I just came from. Once I kindly expressed myself how wrong she was, her attitude changed. Like she knew she was unnecessarily rude and felt bad about it.

Also, rude/unprofessional employees are also a sign of bad management and/or low pay. Especially when it comes to American restaurants. If I notice staff being completely unprofessional or bad at their job, it's a sign that the owner is not worth supporting to begin with.

I've never found myself in this type of situation. I'm the easiest type of customer, as I'm always in and out without a fuss. They'd have no reason to be rude towards me—which I'd be all the more offended by if they were. I always just want to get my errands over and done with, so I don't have the energy to sit there and go back and forth with someone any longer than I'd otherwise have to interact with them. I can have a mouth on me, though, so I'd just get really snarky with them if they were ever rude to me; and I'd be just so chill and casual about it too.

I don't ever take personal any interactions with the service people

So far I don't think I've ever had any problems like this

I just tip when I have to and rarely ever don't tip of the service was too bad.

But I never go out of my way to complain or anything

Honestly don't care enough to do so.

Nobody was ever rude to me but if they are, i'll make sure they pay the price.
