Why would someone stream Sabrina's album from 2 years ago because they like Espresso OR people could not be miserable, bitter gays that pit two women who have been trying for years and finally have success against each other. Sabrina literally just covered Good Luck Babe. But they are streaming the hits from Sabrina's old album But in chappell's case they are streaming the whole album OP is clearly right. People are just streaming Sabrina's hits not e mails 4

AFullMoonlight Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Chappell's album is one of the best to drop this century. The album as a whole deserves to be smashing this much.
JoJo Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Tbf emails came out two years ago. We can't say anything about Sabrina not being an album artist until SNS comes out. But it's incredible that Chappell is already becoming an album artist despite her biggest hit not even being in the album. Her next era will be huge 1
Arrows Posted June 21 Posted June 21 This is actually a valid question since they're in pretty comparable situations right now - both are doing well with new singles, but it's only translating to the success of previous albums for one of them. I definitely think Short n Sweet will be a hit though. 2
Julia Fox Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Chappell album is recent and her tiny desk performance did wonders! Anyway emails streams have been so consistent for almost two years and the album tracks have incredible streams anyway but they haven't had that massive updates but have been consistent and with time they have been doing better and better. The album btw debuted at 23 and peaked at that position and this week it came back to the top 40 because people are streaming it way more than ever. To think she debuted at #76 on the UK Album Chart and for two years never entered and now it's certified Silver for selling 60k and now it has been re-entering and even peaked at #54 last week says it all about the longevity. She really is doing numbers but she isn't getting high positions to then free fall, she's just consistent 2

Rotunda Posted June 21 Posted June 21 (edited) Aside from what's already been said. Chappell's success has largely come from her festival circuit performances going viral. It makes sense a lot of people who are flocking to see her are gonna wanna be familiar with more than just the 2-3 TikTok songs they've been hearing. Sabrina's success is a bit more typical (people just living for the recent singles and awaiting the upcoming album). Edited June 21 by Rotunda
americanlife Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Sabrina is definitely a singles artist. Chappell is pretty new to the scene and it's her debut album. Sabrina has several albums and she's been in the game for 10 years. 1
My Tears Ricochet Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Sabrina being a singles artist while Emails was doing numbers even before Nonsense started smashing These gays can't be serious 1

If the album flops when it's released, then sure. But it's really kinda pointless to be comparing them right now when they both have songs from their previous albums doing well but are by far finding more success with their singles that are not attached to their back catalogue. They're on pretty even footing at the moment.
dumbsparce Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Literally who tf is this person? Is she of the Carolina Polaroid variety? 1
