Burn Posted June 20 Posted June 20 People taking offence that some people enjoy/prefer artists GH albums... when the artist released the GH album... because there was clearly an audience for it. 5
PaloSanto Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Kylie's first GH album. Her first 4 records arent exactly stellar. I only use her debut in full from the PWL years. Meanwhile the compilation is every hit and no filler. If Shakira had a GH from 2010 til now I'd say that as nothing she's released after both Fixations is as memorable as her previous material. Those early 5 albums are almost bulletproof. 2

Though I actually think some of the album tracks on LGTI are stronger than its singles (bar Finer Feelings). They made some terrible choices that era. Edited June 20 by Virgos Groove 2

Her first four albums (yes, even ROL) are not essential at all, though I actually think some of the album tracks on LGTI are stronger than its singles (bar Finer Feelings). Yeah I think during the 80s and before (bar Donna and maybe Madonna) most female albums were just thrown together to sell a quick single rather than be meant to be a project from the artist themselves. Million covers, cheap filler and a couple of standout singles and that's it. I agree, ROL is nothing special. The ultimate kii is how the SAW tracks are so much stronger than the non SAW tracks even tho she desperately wanted to record non SAW material LGTI is just not good... Finer Feelings is amazing but the rest is just not up to standard. They really milked her to the last drop on that label to the point they've released every single song she ever recorded with them I also always had the feeling that EY was made with Debutlie leftovers. Anyways back to fire compilations and subpar albums, Pink's GH so far comes to mind as well
Jay07 Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Rihanna (her hypothetical GH). Only Britney's debut is singles+filler, she seriously stepped it up after that. If you think otherwise you obviously haven't listened
Migs Posted June 20 Posted June 20 (edited) 2 hours ago, Virgos Groove said: There is. I mean, imagine saying influential albums like BOMT, In The Zone and Blackout are poor. Some of her best songs weren't even released as singles, so it really doesn't make sense putting her in this category. Spoiler You can call Britney Jean poor tho. There's no arguing there. suburbannature Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Definitely Whitney and Celine. I'd say Britney and Xtina as well. Amazing singles, but subpar album tracks (outside of an album or two each)

I'll give you Oops and Britney, which are solid, but GH:MP still gives you a solid rundown of her teen-pop work. ITZ is the only one LP of her first four that you have to listen in full to get the gist. Not the source being... an ATRL post At least try AOTY.org, where it indeed shows a poor score, but how can anyone take that serious with things like this included: Quote Hopefully, if she starts to live the wretched life that we all eventually do, her voice will show the scars, she'll stop looking so ******* smug, she'll find solace in drugs and we'll be all the more happier for it. Now grow up, girl. Quick! Score: 1/10 NME (1999) 7 hours ago, Burn said: Britney Spears. I deleted all her albums a long time ago and replaced it with her GH. The hits is all I need when it comes to her. ^ I use this one as it's more complete than My Prerogative. Imagine missing out on tracks like Thinkin' About You, Don't Go Knockin' On My Door, I Run Away, Breathe On Me, Perfect Lover, Blur... 3
modeblock Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Not girlies mentioning Britney Spears, who even her debut has cute teen bops, beautiful ballads, and show stopping singles. If you don't enjoy her music outside of select singles, say that, but her only piss-poor album is Britney Jean, at worst her first two albums are serviceable. 1 1
Mephisto Posted June 20 Posted June 20 8 hours ago, glitch said: Reveal hidden contents Girls Aloud Literally the worst music take I've ever seen in my life. SOTU is the only album that has a few filler tracks. Sugababes, Spice Girls and Atomic Kitten would've fit the bill better. Also Rihanna, Gaga, Katy and Cher. Britney's only bad album is BJ, the rest are great. ABBA does have quite a few fillers in their early albums, but a lot of their album tracks are amazing.

Yes, AND Posted June 21 Posted June 21 10 hours ago, Wicked said: If this is all subjective then her following albums aren't objectively anything. BOMT was not always considered a great album. it sold like hot cakes but was deemed serviceable at best. Over half of it is dreadful. It had 5 listenable songs, being generous.
