nostalgia Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Stan Twitter is expecting Katy Perry's upcoming single "Woman's World" to flop because of the production team behind it, but something more sinister and systemic will be the cause of its downfall. Ageism is the real challenge Katy faces, not her collaboration with Dr. Luke. The public has unfortunately largely moved on from the controversy surrounding Katy and Dr. Luke, focusing more on the allure of younger, emerging artists. This natural progression in the pop industry often sidelines established stars in favor of fresh talent. To combat this, Katy should embrace a more mature and dignified approach to her music, similar to what icons like Madonna, Shania Twain, and Celine Dion have done when they turned 40. Songs like "Take a Bow," "From This Moment On," and "That's the Way It Is" showcase a stately and refined artistry that resonates with a broader audience. By evolving her style in this manner, Katy can maintain her relevance and appeal across different demographics. This strategy would not only highlight her vocal prowess but also solidify her place as a timeless artist. In an industry where ageism is prevalent, a graceful pivot could ensure her enduring success. Katy's future in music depends on her ability to adapt and present herself with the maturity and elegance that has sustained other legendary artists. 2 1
Blue. Posted June 20 Posted June 20 No, it will be due to the production team and it being an Ava Max reject. 7 1
Lana Banana Posted June 20 Posted June 20 (edited) No, it's because the ***** had at least 8 years to work on new music. Almost a decade.... I would be so relaxed if I had all the time in the world to create a new album instead of a yearly pressure. The ***** is dumb or is signed to a Satan's contract to release childish songs for the rest of her career. Edited June 20 by Lana Banana 5 1
Mean Trees Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Shania was like 30 when From This Moment on was released, same with Celine.
Doctor Dick Posted June 20 Posted June 20 (edited) It'll be because it isn't catchy enough for a irrelevant-searching-for-a-comeback main pop girl after such a hiatus, because she doesn't have a big and devoted fanbase, because she hasn't evolved AND because many people are unwilling to stream music by Dr. Luke when they know it's his music all blended perfectly together. Digitalism Posted June 20 Posted June 20 The sound is just not what the people want from Katy People were rooting for her
shimind Posted June 20 Posted June 20 The era wont flop completely for sure. Im sure there will be atleast a song or 2 that public can latch onto.. Prove us wrong katy. Im rooting for both Gaga and katy to smash this year. 1
shyboi Posted June 20 Posted June 20 females older than her are owning the game tho? Taylor and Katy are almost the same age, Beyoncé is older
Vegvisir Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Oh please, it'll flop because music in general is more accessible than EVER, and in order to gain any traction you need to truly make something special, capture the cultural zeitgeist or in rare instances both. Katy has appealed solely to basic american cable viewers for the past 5+ years, and expects everyone to eat up a generic track with even more generic lyrics just because she's serving body on the single cover. It isn't that easy anymore and poor Kathryn is gonna learn the hard way... again 2
jomarr Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Britney and Bey both had top 10 hits in their 40s. She needs to stop working with Doctor Quack.
Richie.Valdez Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Song ain't even out yet and her stans already making excuses for her flop ass 13
ChooseyLover Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Ageism is a real thing but as long as she looks younger it shouldn't be her downfall and it hasn't been for Shakira or Beyoncé. The music has been questionable so far and for a few years and this time she's aiming for good for a throwback trying to bring back a former glory not everyone feels nostalgic about
45seconds Posted June 20 Posted June 20 I'm sorry but I heard a snippet and that song is legitimately terrible. I hope it has better parts.
kellebrity98 Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Cher had a number one when she was nearly 50, just release good music.
TedLasso Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Meanwhile Beyoncé's gotten two #1 hits / 4 top 10 hits since she turned 40
Onyxmage Posted June 20 Posted June 20 (edited) Beyonce- 42 Taylor -34 SZA -34 Lana Del Rey- 38 Shakira- 47 and there are even more in their 30s. Age is NO excuse. Edited June 20 by Onyxmage
ATRL Moderator supaspaz Posted June 20 ATRL Moderator Posted June 20 I think we’re all expecting it to flop because it’s bad. 1 1
Pikachoo Posted June 20 Posted June 20 I really want to know when Angelina and Jennifer took a picture together? I never recall them ever doing so. and Jennifer has a very manly jawline, wow. 2 2
MusicLoverDude Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Taylor and Ariana are both in their 30s now and doing well. SZA as well. Beyonce is 42. Hell, Drake and Kendrick are in their mid-30s and the rap beef still kept them afloat. Age isn't an excuse.
