Taylor fanboy Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Both are great for me and should be "nice" at best to naysayers. I'm not surprised. It was an instant smash on first listen. Both Jack and Sabrina's quirk blend so well. I fear Short N Sweet is shaping up to be another Melodroma, reputation, MASSEDUCTION type of big W for Miss Jack.
Xtripped Posted June 20 Posted June 20 How is this site still using the autoplay card? PPP is smashing everywhere not only Spotify. Talent won obviously.
Escape Posted June 20 Posted June 20 (edited) Well this explains why y'all suddenly think Please x3 is better and "more interesting" Espresso >>> Edited June 20 by Kanes
Le Grande Posted June 20 Posted June 20 I really don't understand why people like this one this much, like where is the beat? Espresso is saccharine as well, but it hits all the right spots, this one is just straight-up awful.
wigglytuffer Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Espresso definitely paved the way for it, but i think PPP is such a smart second single bc it has a mass-generational appeal to it. The overall look and feel is very Olivia Newton John / ABBA-esque to me which is doing wonders for a slighly older demographic who may just hear her on the radio. I could see this getting plays on Radio 2 here in the UK and people actually enjoying it, depsire Radio 2 being reserved for an older demographic
Gossip_Boy Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Please Please Please is more in line with what's currently popular so this isn't exactly surprising. Plus the 80s synth vibe paired with some country elements is an interesting mix.
skyandground Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Please Please Please is the bigger US hit. Espresso remains the bigger global hit (for now) It's extremely hard for a solo female pop song to do well on Apple Music US & Amazon Music US... PPP achieved that with ease while Espresso struggled a bit there for a while before getting boosted by PPP
