Lana Banana Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Charts are being dominated by quick little hits but no one has the attention span for ballads anymore and we haven't had a major ballad TOP the charts in a long time. When is the collapse going to happen? Do we need Adele to release a power ballad and have us all crying again?
tost1 Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Beautiful Things smashed a few months ago. There is always a power ballad high on the charts at any point but please no overkill like 10 years ago

AdrianNicki Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I don't think there are many artists in mainstream music that can deliver a good ballad nowadays. Maybe Ariana but that's about it.

Don't Look Back, Forget Me Not, Breathe In, Twisting the Chain and What You're Made Of are such brilliant songs. I'd love for songs like this to make a comeback: 1
JoeAg Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Kelly tried to make them happen again last year but you b*tches let her flop… for shame!!
Devin Posted June 19 Posted June 19 in order to make a great comeback we need more singers back. most ballads we know & love are by vocalists. 3

EnigmaticAndroid Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Multiple ballads have been major hits in recent memory, they just aren't the heavily produced huge 90s pop type. Massive power ballads like Celine and Mariah did are out. People seemingly want ballads more down-to-earth.
BrokenMachine Posted June 19 Posted June 19 What Was I Made For was pretty big last year. Olivia has potential to turn ballads into hits too
Soda Pop Queen Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Ballads never left, they just transformed. If you are expecting a 90s power ballad on the radio in 2024 then I don't know what to tell ya.
Wicked Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Rock, R&B and Country ballads are welcome. the other **** is corny mostly.
