Hector Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Top 2 songs in the world and her next album Short N Sweet will be her biggest. All of ATRL and Gen Z adores her at the moment, has she officially reached main pop girl status? 1
UnusualBoy Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I think it's better to wait for the album but she's doing amazing.
byzantium Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Given by how much conversation there is about her on ATRL I think it is fair to say she is as or right now. Let's see if she remains there by the end of the summer.
thatsmydemi Posted June 17 Posted June 17 with the way these songs are performing, there is no way the album will do bad. If anything, we'll have to wait for her next era.
ScorpiosGroove Posted June 17 Posted June 17 oh definitely, she's a MPG ! Spoiler main payola girl that is 2 4
supertiffany Posted June 17 Posted June 17 having two songs in top 5 while competing with the songs of Taylor, Ariana, and Billie 1
AFullMoonlight Posted June 17 Posted June 17 When are y'all going to let this MPG shtick go. Like clockwork y'all deem somebody who's having a moment a 'MPG' and then as soon as they have a misstep you start crapping on them as recently seen with Dua and Tate. Rinse. Wash. Repeat. 7 1
Trent W Posted June 17 Posted June 17 There's one hit wonders. Then one era wonders and then MPG She's barely in the first filter, she needs a couple smash albums like Dua to even have this discussion
Gorjesspazze9 Posted June 17 Posted June 17 She is a star now. After her album she will probably be a main pop girl
Patient Zero Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Currently just an autoplay girl MPG's aren't created after just two hits. 1 1
dussel_06 Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Spoiler Does she hates Taylor? Yes? Then she's an MPG. A smasha, We're all rooting for her to smash. No? Uhmm No, she needs more time. Or she needs to hate Taylor. Yes. And she's shaping to be one of the biggest among the new batch. 1 1
Tropez Posted June 17 Posted June 17 If she can headline a stadium tour, have a multiple platinum album with multiple top 10s, and a #1 single. Then yeah she is.
Sadie Saxton Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I would say give her some time to marinate now that she's seeing success - but it's shaping up very nicely for her
Selegend Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I don't think being or not being a MPG is based on having hit singles. Even if they're #1 and #2 on Global Billboard. From my pov, it's all about the name. The power of the name Sabrina Carpenter is still very weak, her success is so recent. I'm sure there's plenty of people that may have heard Espresso and PPP and don't know who the singer is, and we can see it even on social media comments oustide stan world "oh, this is the singer? i thought it was --name of a more famous singler--", now can u just imagine outside social media. Her name doesn't hold a strong power. And there's no way it would, her success is so recent. Is she shaping up to be one? Yes. Am i a firm believer that she will be one? Yes Is she one yet? No. 1
Poptart89 Posted June 17 Posted June 17 (edited) 18 minutes ago, Tropez said: If she can headline a stadium tour, have a multiple platinum album with multiple top 10s, and a #1 single. Then yeah she is. I feel like only the biggest of the biggest do stadium tours. Not even Olivia or Billie does stadium tours and they are certifiable MPGs. I think selling out arenas is a more realistic barrier to entry. Especially since so many people are having trouble doing that these days. But otherwise agree. Let's revisit this question once her album is out and her tour is announced. Edited June 17 by Poptart89
Da Vinci Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I think she could be She has a more appealing and clear image or persona than your average 2 hit wonder, she knows exactly what she wants to serve us She also has charisma and a star-like aura 4 1
kendoll2001 Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I'd say she's definitely set up and on her way to becoming one. What sets her and Tate apart is that she's as much becoming a known "celebrity" to the GP as she is a pop girl. If everything goes to plan with the album and tour, she'll join fellow Gen Z MPGs Dua, Doja, Billie and Olivia 2
