$ebert Posted June 22 Posted June 22 I just listened to it. Production is…interesting. Her vocal delivery is good, not fan of the excessive auto tune, there's a way to do it but I don't think it fits the song. Honestly, it's not a song that I will play again. A very personal take is I hate her re branding. I'm Mexican so I was interested in her Latino era, I listened to Señorita and Havana, but I feel like she only used her Latino roots because Latin music was huge wordwide. I feel like she's trying to be white trying to appeal to US and her Latin roots disappear. 1

Bestie, she is both American and Hispanic, and as an artist, she's allowed to explore and express different aspects of her identity through her music, no matter what music is popular at the time. It's normal to experiment with various styles and genres over time, which is what she's doing with this album and is also a significant part of her cultural identity. This rebrand doesn't negate her roots. It showcases her versatility as an artist. And I'm Mexican too, so I understand the desire for more Spanish music. I'm sure we'll get that Spanish album one day. 4
