The celebrations for Max Martin are also weird cause he made the worst lead of Pink's career then made a bop for Ariana that has the same melody as Trustfall. Rat.

He worked on Ariana's fantastic new album. Her very own 'We Can't Be Friends' is all she needed, and it's also completely in her wheelhouse. Max Martin very much still has it with the right people. There was no reason for her to need to work with anyone else than mainly Max's team to be honest.

it always confuses me why OKHs likes writing essays about Mrs. Perry:clack:I won't even comment more than 2 sentences for the artists I'm not into...

Y'all need to stop thinking that chronically online pop obsessed gays are the entirety of her fanbase.

But those people were the only ones checking for her all of these years since the GP dropped her like a rock in 2017 s:wan:

Some people possess the ability to write more than one sentence about things. Maybe it's a you problem that you struggle to articulate yourself properly? Sorry about it.

OKHs are on fire  :ahh:

Miss Perry has every right to collaborate with any person Not convicted but the US Justice or by any court in the US and abroad.

Thank God we don't live in a world where ... atrl pop stans decide who's guilty or innocent (that would require a proper education too).

I understand that Katy had other options for KP6, and working with Dr. Luke might not have been the most prudent choice. At all. However, I also see why she could've been influenced by the chart success of songs like Say So, Kiss Me More, and Super Freaky Girl.

And I completely understand why it might be confusing when Gen Z continuously praises her old collaborations with Dr. Luke on tiktok. It seems like there's a disconnect between their appreciation for those hits and the current backlash against Dr. Luke in the industry.

I think two things can be true at once: her best, biggest bangers are with Luke and Gen Z recognizes that Luke is a monster.

Totally! But this isn't about her "right"... she could put out whatever she wants. But the audience has the right to feel however they want about it. And when the goal is to appeal to the audience (let's be real, she's a pop singer, not Bjork lol) well... it does seem silly to work with someone so controversial on a cheesy song about women empowerment

The general public will not care about Dr. Luke's involvement. They also will not care about a Katy Perry album. That is why the only option was for Katy to cater to her fanbase and people who are chronically online and thusly know about Dr. Luke. She ruined that chance. Those groups of people were stoked about a Katy Perry comeback and this is her response.

A year or so ago ATRL was filled with comments that Katy needs to run back to Dr. Luke if she wants hits and a massive comeback.

Yeah, unfortunately, it seems like Katy took the success of Dr. Luke-produced songs as a cue that the audience doesn't mind his involvement in her music. I actually think that's partially true, as the general sentiment appears to be, 'Well, it better be worth it.' I guess people expected 13 Teenage Dreams and Cali Gurls on the album, or at least on the tracks with his credits.

So I guess everyone here and most of the GP are hypocritical. Now what?

Of course she has the right to do it. Just like everyone else all have the right to not listen to it when it comes out.

I still can't believe that Katy Perry chose her comeback single called Woman's World about women empowerment to be produced by a racist and abuser. Literally could have worked with anyone. That alone should make every single one of you check the **** out. It's so cringe. The literal most cringe moment a pop star has given us.

And on top of that, it's not even a remotely good song.

To blatantly disrespect women with a choice you made, not just women but her peers, and then to sing about "it's a woman's world and you're lucky you to be living in it". You are the FARTHEST from a girls girl, girl. Nobody is going to take this song seriously. Laughable.

To be quite honest, I don't think the GP would have an issue with Luke if the song was remotely good. She should've just not shared that damn snippet.

I would have loved a full on dance/eurodance/EDM style album from Katy working with all the famous dance producers/DJs. :)

(Or E.T. part 2!)

As for the feminism aspect, starting the song off with 'sexy confident' is a bit lukewarm as a feminism anthem. It's definitely not as powerful or serious as, say, Rise. I feel she might be able to lessen the backlash by changing the title, as the song doesn't necessarily convey a serious feminist message. Using the words 'Woman's World' in the title, coupled with the Dr. Luke credit, makes the the situation way worse and creates additional backlash, in my opinion.

All this media praising her working with Luke for this release is so gross, it's still unbelievable (not) his power and influence in the industry.

I thought Chr1s Br0wn still being able to release music was bad but this is just wrong on so many levels and I'm not even taking into account the song's content and how it clashes with this empowered narrative.

Okay guys, the GP may not care about Lukes involvement, but they sure care about the song quality, and she is getting DRAGGED HARD by the gp on all social media comments :doc:

It seems like people have only heard the 'sexy confident' part, right? I just think that's the worst part of the song.

Most of the GP won't even know about Dr Luke on the track, and sadly not care. I'm not a fan of her working with him at all, but it's not gonna have an impact that much in the songs success or not tbh. If it's a bop and connects with the GP then it'll do great, and if it's a flop then the GP won't give it much attention.

I'm rooting for Katy to have her big comeback, but I just wish she chose another producer :dancehall:
