Giving it a radio deal and no TTH and pushing high budget for the mv. They're clearly still stuck in old promo ways I will await the album release and hope we get more bops like Nirvana and Lifetimes and that'll be where my expectations for the era lies
Colmillo Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Some of y'all thinking the hate Katy's getting is because "people hate fun" even if we ignore the people that she's working with, the song is objectively bad, it's ok for an album filler track but it's far from being a good lead single after such a long wait, I'm sure there are plenty of better options on the album. 6

Hopefully the second single is better, but yeah the lead is a no.
fireaero Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I think the director should've at least made the first half of the video more obviously satire. Like if they showed that scene as an ad on TV watched by men. As of right now, the video looks a lot worse than it actually is The fact they even prepared that behind the scenes video expecting people to not get it That means the video itself should've made it more clear. 1 1

Dante Silva Posted July 13 Posted July 13 This totally needs an old skool 12" extended version that lasts at least 6 mins, 30 secs. The edit is way too short.

Wish we got an album full of songs like that. 3 hours ago, Lvl8Treeko said: The bandwagon hating on Katy is highkey bullying and quite frankly pathetic. It's giving jobless. Twitter is truly a cesspool of uglies. I haven't seen one person with a viral hate tweet that is attractive. The dissecting every frame of the video to find something problematic is so lame. It's a tongue-in-cheek katy perry music video. It was never that serious. Though this seems to happen to her every era. Even during TD era she was critically panned and hated on. I really don't get it. People refuse to lighten up and have fun. regarding the song, while I feel it could be a little longer at first listen, it's really grown on me and the chorus is definitely an earworm! It's not her best but it's nowhere near as bad as people are making it out to be. It's just the Witness era all over again. It's basically in vogue to bash Katy and so all the critics are joining in. In a couple of years we will have a few reviewers pretend they feel sorry about piling on the bandwagon but they will quickly move on to whichever pop star they feel safe to attack next. 4Walls Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Im sorry yall but people have been making fun of Katy relentlessly since the Prism era like……..this "hate train" arrived at the station yearrrrrs ago This was her best and last chance for her to truly change what people think about her and she failed and that's it. Like it's over. She has a hot husband though. 1

You're obviously not a fan of pop culture, literally since Witness everyone has been calling her a megaflop She ran to the person who gave her hits, who won a grammy with Doja in the 2020s And so dramatic with the un@live talk, I just want good music from her--Luke produces good music 1 1

Still top notch production and visuals. what are people going to say when she comes back again 4 years from now with another rollout with top notch production and huge budget? I guarantee you 143 will be better than Chromatica, TTPD, Midnights, etc. 6 3

This is way beyond pop culture and petty stan drama. Also, this is a good example of why there's evil in the world - if a fan of an artist who gains nothing from this situation is still apologetic to a r@pist just because his favorite singer needs a hit (???) you can clearly understand why the world is so f-d up. But this is a lost battle, again, trying to put an inch of sense into a mind of a person that clearly just doesn't hare. As gaga said, 'til it happens to you', i guess 1 1

I guarantee you 143 will be better than Chromatica, TTPD, Midnights, etc. Well ofcourse she's always gonna have plenty of resources and big production. Like duh. She's a universally known pop-star on a major label. Just from her name alone people are always gonna check for ha and because of that, the budget will always be there. What I'm talking about is that her actual reputation is in the toilet. People do not take her music seriously, nor actually value what she has to say. She's been the joke in the pop landscape for years and this kinda felt like her last chance to get out of that rut and be the likable/relatable big-boobed star she once was. But it's just not workin! I truly think she and her team are just too out-of-touch to keep up. Hiring Dr. Luke was also a legit insane decision. I do like how much of pop purest she is and the way 143 is sounding based off the snippets. But the public dont really see her as an albums artist. And if the singles aren't even hitting …….her next hiatus might be longer than 4 years. And hello greatest hits world tour!
Stunnah Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I just realised that Ava Max's lead single My Oh My debuted with almost the same playlisting: 42 million.
