Gaga formally apologized over five years ago now for the DWUW song and removed it from all platforms. No one needs to punch down at Katy Perry. She hasn't had a hit in a decade, she can't sell out 3,000 person theaters, and she's not known for anything innovative. How is this even fun pop music? Who's asking to dance to this in the club or play this at parties? What a mood killer it would be if in the midst of actual listenable fun pop music this interrupted the flow. Girl I can still listen to the song on Spotify and R. Kelly's credited. Either way the guy was convicted. You're the one who's talking about being innovative, hits or selling out here, pop music should be fun regardless of it. And your own mood is already a killer if you listen to this and don't think it would be a good time to listen to this at a party. 2

Enrique523 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Yeah it's blatant payola but it's ok, she's gonna crash and burn anyway. But i still find it funny that they didn't even put some of that payola money on TTH
BrattyBottom Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I speak for everyone when I say: we all want to be on the next plane OFF of THIS woman's world 1 1
MasterExpose Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Album should be scrapped tbh. First impressions are important and hers aren't great, people won't give the album a chance even if they lucky to hear Godvana. The problem is going out for a while not with a bang but a bomb Still pissed at her

Luke settled with Kesha on court didn't he? Wrong. John Janick was the one who lied on the stand after telling Gaga + Kesha that he believed Katy was a victim, he turned around in his disposition and said he never mentioned Katy being a victim of Luke. Afterward Gaga had to take the stand and essentially call him a liar and that he did in fact disclose those things about Katy to her. Kesha only believed that Katy could be a victim who was being silenced (because John told her so) meanwhile Katy seems to have never believed Kesha was a victim of sexual assault even after hearing it directly from her. This "Kesha lied on Katy" trope is tired and simply untrue. 7

Great Username Posted July 13 Posted July 13 The "yeah... That's right... It's a woman's world" bit Dr Luke fell off so bad omg. How did anyone involved in this single think it was workable.
X~MoviePoP Posted July 13 Posted July 13 If dr luke was gonna do a katy song, shoulda atleast did a good one like his previous britney ones or doja cat ones

How long had it been known about R. Kelly's aberrations? When did DWUW come out? Why did Gaga defend him when talking about their collaboration? Why did she make such suggestive performances next to him? Why did she wait so long to remove the song, just as the documentary came out and she was in the midst of her Oscar campaign? She thought she would get away with it, until the bomb blew up in her face. She's very devious, but she's smart, I'll give her that. Other than that her talent has helped her cover up her nasties. 4 2
KatyPrismSpirit Posted July 13 Posted July 13 katy flopping is a good thing because now nobody is going to work with dr luke again. oh katy, your impact is unprecedented 2 4

Teenageprism Posted July 13 Posted July 13 (edited) The whole disaster started with the verse The turning point that began to bring her down was the snippet of the first verse she revealed. From the AI controversy and the TikTok trend mocking the verse to the Dr. Luke controversy... It was a complete mess I actually think the overall sound and mixing of the song are pretty good, and the chorus is very catchy. Nevertheless, If she had to release "Women's World," she should have first shared a snippet from the closet scene instead of the verse and released the song immediately, before the Dr. Luke controversy grew. Well, R Kelly was arrested for CP in 2002, and tried in 2008. He was acquitted, though. There were also some civil lawsuits in the 90s. 1

Anything other than that it's just assumptions. There are more sides to this story, the justice system is failed but I don't think in light of the Me Too movement that Luke would just get away with something like this. If Kesha settled with him, why do people think this guy should just kill himself and cease to exist?

None of these lyrics are bad in the song's context, on the other hands, they are smart and rhymed. That's the reason why these songs become acclaimed smash hits/fan's favorite of the album and WW certainly won't
dillan Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I just can't believe someone in her team thought this was the best song to release as her comeback single
