I find it strange that everything surrounding Dr Luke ends up having bad consequences for women but not for him.

He's not facing consequences because people like Katy Perry continue to work with him. His reputation is tarnished and trashed.  His only chance at coming back is to have artists like Katy back him and release music with him. If artists didn't work with him then he'd be paying some consequences for his behavior although it's nothing because he should be in jail. The court system obviously failed but that's a topic for a different day. The way someone like him pays for his actions (since the court system failed) is for him to be shunned from the industry and not have people work with him which for the most part has happened but when an artist decides to work with him then of course that artist is going to get crap thrown their way.

Katy's Woman's World debuts at #34 on the US Pop Radio.

For comparison:

Billie's Lunch debuted at #31

Taylor's Fortnight debuted at #32

Dua's Houdini debuted at #49

Beyonce's Texas Hold Em debuted at #46

Camila's Hot Uptown with Drake debuted at #48

Adele's Easy On Me debuted at #47

Rihanna's Lift Me Up debuted at #30

And we can all agree the artists listed are currently bigger than Katy is. What's going on?

:juanny:

I agree with all except for Camila. She hasn't had a big hit since Senorita, and that was 5 years ago. Until Camila has another big hit, she's in the same boat as Katy.

I would replace Camila with Olivia Rodrigo.

A big pop star getting the same push as other big popstars, how shocking!

Whoah it's insanely bad

By the way…I've never seen critics trash a single this way.

So the lyrics were true, i'm a bit scared it's going to get universally panned on TikTok like Big Foot, hope i'm wrong.

I would be really interested in knowing what her team's reaction has been to the single's reception over the last day or so. It might be doing well on radio but it's doing abysmal on streaming which is the major metric. Have they realised they've f**ked up?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Katy needs a new team. Her current team are stuck in the 2010s when radio ruled. They haven't adjusted to the streaming era and have seemingly refused to engage with streaming at all. You'd think they'd have learned from the Smile era that she needs to do better on those platforms but here we go again.

I also hope she's realised going back to Dr Luke has harmed her and was an awful decision.

All I can hope is that they rush release Gorgeous or Lifetime as they both sounded miles better than WW.

I'm out of this boat for real.

The only entretaining thing will be the day by day drop :rip: It will be outstreamed by Joyride in the matter of 4 or 5 days.

I think this debuted lower than Electric :rip: and IIRC CAIL debuted in the ~60 range omg

These positions are according to spins. What you need is the airplay audience for H100 chart.

Do you have those overall numbers? don't forget this is just pop format.

Thanks for your information, I appreciate your effort!

Not when Nicki got her biggest hit this decade with Super Freaky Girl

Doja Cat had some of her biggest hits with his name attached and that didn't affect her career

Latto had her biggest him produced by him. She even got a multiple nominations thanks to Big Energy

Saweetie is another example. Her biggest hit is the Grammy nominated Best Friend (produced and written by Dr. Luke)

not 570K for the third day so far :bibliahh: she will be out of top 200

It wasn't that dumb to announce the album one day before the single release. At least she will get those 10k copies.

But are those 10k WW or just US?

She should've run to max martin and keep the dr luke as ghost writer even if you want to work with him.

She was brave for that. :clack:

I'm sad, and very disappointed but everyone involved in making the choice to work with him again should have seen this reaction coming off a mile off. It's her and her team's own fault and honestly at this point I don't even know how she can come back from this mess.

Mte. I honestly don't know how can she turn it around because she showed her whole ass with her choice. There's no way to spin the narrative.

And it only gets worse when we know the album is infested with Luke's uninspired trap pop.

atp scrapping the album and redo the tracks w other producers would prob be the ideal :deadbanana:

This is the only successful option. The current song needs to be announced urgently as the soundtrack to the Olympics, but then she must perform or appear there, otherwise it is strange that she has been promoting it for two months.

Based on 2 girls you stan, you should know everything about payola and chart manipulations, so why don't you explain to us? :giraffe:

This song is getting hate for everything but the actual song itself. The worst yall can say about it is titties in the music video and it sounds basic

Katy is going to be flamed no matter what she does, she's either a flop or an abuser, i just hope she produces good music and ignores the hate

Let's wait for the actual Billboard charts, TayDuaStan, because Houdini debuted at #16 and Fartnight at #13 on Billboard's official pop airplay, which are both some of the highest debuts ever on the chart, all for one song which peaked in its opening week (#11) and another song that's underperforming :lmao:
