knewbetterpt2 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 it's unfortunate this comeback was handed to Katy on a silver platter and she still managed to **** it up. she had all the goodwill on her side this time around to slam dunk this return and yet…. this whole disaster could have been averted if she hadn't been chasing the peak of her glory days. it's almost as if Katy Perry doesn't know who Katy Perry is in 2024. she's never had much grace on social media so I'm not surprised that the lashings from major publications have gotten to the point they have. but once again, she chose this route and knew the consequences that would follow and still went through with it. overall just very sad and concerning, it didn't have to be this way! P.S. Never Really Over is a 10/10 KP track in my book 5

TayDuaStan Posted July 13 Posted July 13 (edited) Katy's Woman's World debuts at #34 on the US Pop Radio. For comparison: Billie's Lunch debuted at #31 Taylor's Fortnight debuted at #32 Dua's Houdini debuted at #49 Beyonce's Texas Hold Em debuted at #46 Camila's Hot Uptown with Drake debuted at #48 Adele's Easy On Me debuted at #47 Rihanna's Lift Me Up debuted at #30 And we can all agree the artists listed are currently bigger than Katy is. What's going on? Edited July 13 by TayDuaStan 1 1
Magno Posted July 13 Posted July 13 We are really over now, I didn't expect, the only hope now I have is 21 savage to take her off the flop. 1

DawnAnti Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Well fair enough she worked 7 years on American idol for this payola
frankvert Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Let Katherine have a little radio payola. She has literally nothing else going for her and won't survive the rolling effect anyway. Imagine the callouts? Get the marshmallows ready 11 1
AlleeX Posted July 13 Posted July 13 The issue is that her attitude, plus involvement of that guy will not allow for a PR crisis communication move. She will have to remain silent as she can't go against him - he will sue, even if she tries. So the only thing she can do instead of keeping silent is to defend him, which will be the absolute end of her. We're past the point of treating cases like these with silence, literally every PR crisis that was tried to be solved with silence has been a major mess. Even people like Kate Middleton had to address internet rumours and the publice demanded the answers. Now you're gonna say - it's not that serious, it's just a (fading) pop star - but, she relies on the her audience's opinion way more than some other music artists. It will be very interesting to watch, nothing to pity. I would be sad if the album is scrapped cause seems like some songs that were teased sound really good, but if some of them are Dr. Luke's tracks, I hope she will be bullied out of it and maybe artists will realise that this is not 2005 anymore where you can do whatever you want. I just wonder what would've happened if the song wasn't so painfully basic, dull and cringe. Would the backlash be as strong? I hope so, but I'm not sure. 2
Danny1021 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I like the song, it just needs a bridge & another chorus. Hope she had an extended version ready to release 2

NRO was such a huge step in the right direction, but I still hope we'll get some full on pop moments on the album.
CameraFlashes Posted July 13 Posted July 13 her obsessions with writing empowerment music truly confuses mei dont hate WW tho 1

Sabandija Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I find it strange that everything surrounding Dr Luke ends up having bad consequences for women but not for him. 4
