Only 123 on Apple Music UK… it's soooo bad for her. She's never recovering I fear :(

The choreography is serving a mix of Taylor and Hilary

All of the budget they spent in the other stuff and they didn't spend in the most important thing :clownny:?

Her team is so out of touch

Why does the video end with her literally stealing the spotlight from a black woman? Can anyone please explain what exactly this video was trying to communicate? :deadbanana4:

The whole video makes no sense, she destroys the car of another woman, breaks into her house, breaks her glass door and steals the phone of the woman inside??? It shouldn't be taken serious because that's the premise of the video... but it's still not a good look :deadbanana2:

Well I'm glad I didn't abruptly give my review while sitting on the toilet last night with headphones on. I was grossly disappointed. In the territory of Perfect Illusion and Give Me All Ur Lovin.

Revisited this a 2nd time today on the way to work, and it's not as bad as ya'll making it out to be. It's very Born This Way in that the cheesy lyrical content, which is horrid on paper, just seems to smoothly breeze by in a catchy way.

I love the 2nd verse. Katy has a great redub technique that blends her tone so well. Very much reminiscent of the Teenage Dream singles.

Happy to see this at #2 on iTunes. Hopefully #1 soon. They dropped the ball on playlisting once again tho. But it looks like a radio deal is in place, so we'll see!!

I'm definitely more excited about it than I was last night. Haven't listened to any of the album snippets yet, and apparently they're great, so I'm happy.

This is exactly how I feel about this song tbh.

It's not as bad as all these people are making out to be and it's catchy and singalong-y, but as a fan, it's a bit disappointing that after 4 whole years she came up with something so basic and borderline dated with vaguely simple lyrics.

But it's looking so far as if the other tracks on the album are gonna be better than this and more dynamic. So that obviously makes me excited for the album.

She'll never win over the critics because they've always been very harsh on her even with quality songs in her catalogue and they've always focused on her surrounding circumstances more than the music itself, and more mediocre pop music than hers have gotten rave reviews in the recent history. Yes she has some of the most positively reviewed pop songs in history like Teenage Dream and NRO, but they're outliers at this point. So fans: it's kinda pointless to hope that she'll get acclaim some day, it's not gonna happen. And haters: stop thinking that her fans are expecting acclaim because kats have made peace with the fact that she won't and we're just here to enjoy the music and visuals and her larger than life persona.

Commercially, this had potential because this is the first time in years she got this kinda attention and hype and social media engagement. But the most important aspects in todays climate: playlists and autoplay, they seem to be lacking from this puzzle. Sure she's doing well on iTunes and radio seems to be on board initially, but today's climate asks for streaming payola in order to succeed and expose your music to the biggest audience, which her label/team still doesn't seem to have a focus on. So unless a miracle happens and this song goes viral, we shouldn't expect huge numbers because neither does she have a huge fanbase, nor the majority of gp seems to be aware of this.

It's genuinely sad that she felt the need to go back to a rapist to make...this.  Everything was set up for her to have a great comeback and they've fumbled it spectacularly.

I can't even tell what the video is trying to say?  And who exactly they're aiming this towards?

It really is so disheartening as a longtime fan to see this happening again after she actually had a shot to rise above a "joke" as she's now seen. (Not discrediting any of her past achievements etc). It almost feels like they made a list of things to avoid and mixed it up with the actual list they were going to use for the rollout. How do you make so many bad decisions at once it's really mind blowing. Even if puke wasn't involved in this, it would still have been a very lackluster lead. It's like she gets off on doing everything the wrong way :rip: only thing keeping me somewhat positive, are the snippets sound solid so far.

I wasn't trying to call it dated. We're in first-wave Y2K nostalgia period.

Nah I know I know, it's just that all that song makes me think about is these choppy old GTA:SA youtube videos

The overall result give me the impression of Anna Farris' pop star character from Just Friends.

I actually like this a lot now. It's stupid, it's corny, but it's very catchy and the production is superb. That 2nd verse is just so great.

Why are we updating iTunes positions in 2024? They mean nothing.

Chorus is pretty catchy, lyrics are really bad, I don't particularly like the video either.

Mr Gottwald definitely puts a downer on the whole thing and my nostalgia for Katy would probably be eating this up if not for him.

Today I quit the company where I worked for 3 years in a high position. I barely waited until I received my documents and left the building under "Woman's World". It was enchanting.
