someone tweeted

"Just heard Woman's world on the radio & gosh the tears in my eyes. The lyrics, the beat, the delivery, the rhythm, the sound, the production, the flow...everything was garbage from beginning to end. Definitely the worst thing I've ever heard in my life."

:hoetenks:

Are they sure it wasnt jud**...?

Despite the generic/pandering lyrics, I love how Y2K it sounds. It literally reminds me of 009 Sound System - Dreamscape.

I laughed at this way, way harder than I should have :bibliahh::gaycat7:

In the apple music interview she said she wanted this to be the bridge between what the public remembers of her (anthemic songs) to what the rest of the album is. From the snippets this is definitely not representing the album as a whole at all.

This is really what I realized too baby

what if they decided to not push it after the backlash the first snippet got?

how does WW's first day(partial day) streams compared to Flower's first partial day?

ShakesPERRY went hard on this one :gaycat2:

Actually, after putting them opposite to each other like that, it kinda makes sense :ryan3: Welp, maybe she was onto something after all.

Well look at TG, or Prism.

Dark Horse, Roar, Unconditionally, Walking on air ... all different styles.

I think the album will be in this vein. Just not sure about the quality

But looking at Witness and Smile they had a proper sound, even being badly received by critics, but once she wants to revive TD and PRISM glory days, I think 143 will be not the case of the two first mentioned ones

Well I'm glad I didn't abruptly give my review while sitting on the toilet last night with headphones on. I was grossly disappointed. In the territory of Perfect Illusion and Give Me All Ur Lovin.

Revisited this a 2nd time today on the way to work, and it's not as bad as ya'll making it out to be. It's very Born This Way in that the cheesy lyrical content, which is horrid on paper, just seems to smoothly breeze by in a catchy way.

I love the 2nd verse. Katy has a great redub technique that blends her tone so well. Very much reminiscent of the Teenage Dream singles.

Happy to see this at #2 on iTunes. Hopefully #1 soon. They dropped the ball on playlisting once again tho. But it looks like a radio deal is in place, so we'll see!!

I'm definitely more excited about it than I was last night. Haven't listened to any of the album snippets yet, and apparently they're great, so I'm happy.

Sure the song will have a decent debut hopefully… but the reviews are destroying her chances at being a respected pop star 💀

the second week will be tough to watch

Based on the 5 songs we heard snippet, it seems to be mixture of variatons of pop just like on prism and teenage dream. Some more elector dance, some more straight forward pop, some more house, some more rnb pop ...

The 2nd single choices are limited when it comes to another non dr fluke production , or they better delete his credits 💀

Weren't you dragging Katy to hell last week on that Kesha thread? :rip:

Panned on arrival, can't defend this

I think this would have been fine as an album track. To have it be 'the' comeback single for her was certainly a choice...

Posted

imo her only underwhelming singles are Swish Swish/Shitmile:clack:Smelly Tank grew on me heavily, the outro is really cute...

I was rooting for her but this is really, really bad, unfortunately.  The verses are as cringe as the snippet made them out to be.  The chorus is okay, but it isn't enough to save the song.  And the lack of bridge is just... :deadbanana4:

Hope the second single is better.

Her incompetent ass team hasn't even updated her own playlist on Spotify.

Seriously wtf

Why does the video end with her literally stealing the spotlight from a black woman? Can anyone please explain what exactly this video was trying to communicate? :deadbanana4:

i feel like that part of the video was depicting her doing dance challanges with a tiktok teen + reintroducing herself as katy perry for the younger audience who might not know or remember her idk :gaycat2:

The chorus is alright but the verses are so incredibly cringe :hoetenks:

I was also expecting a bridge. Overall I'm confused about why she went with this as her big comeback, even putting aside all the producer controversy.

This is just sad.

All of the budget they spent in the other stuff and they didn't spend in the most important thing :clownny:?
