Never Really Over — 3,458,431 What a smash hit that was, I remember this song outstreaming two Taylor singles after a month Too bad she's not doing catchy hooks and interesting samples anymore

thatsmydemi Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Not them hyping this release to heaven only for them to barely push it on Spotify then 2

I'm sure ATRL would be here for her if she released ''Lifetime'' instead of this. Anyways, of course Dr. Luke collab ruined her return. She sold her soul for a hit and that's what they did at them best? Really? She would do so much better with Max Martin and no one would even talk about Kesha in her threads. It was the worst move she could EVER do. Now she's gonna face internet hate since the song is flopping and no one will be here to stand with her cause i mean... did you sold your dignity for this? A mature response! - I agree, I think the only reason they chose it for lead is because of the message and visuals they could put around it. I suspect they will rush out single number 2 in a about a month.
halcyonday Posted July 12 Posted July 12 is capitol about to go bankrupt? i can't imagine them giving katy only 30m playlisting for a comeback song?
Teenageprism Posted July 12 Posted July 12 3 minutes ago, halcyonday said: This is just sad. WTF?????? Capitol is a label that can't even manage the basics for their top artist. I thought this time would be different, but it's worse than Pre-Smile era. 2
Pelvic Thrust Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Just read that Chloe Angelides wrote the song. Girl you have far more better unreleased stuff than this! You should've given one to Katy
shyboi Posted July 12 Posted July 12 i said this before when the first snippets dropped the song gives cool for the summer, into you vibes slow atmospheric verses and explosive loud chorus, nostalgia mid 10s pop 1 1
halcyonday Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Not Capitol's Ice Spice having 2x the playlists... oh they DON'T want to support Katy YIKES

Asparagus Spears Posted July 12 Posted July 12 For some reason I was pretty neutral to the Katy/Luke/Kesha thing but ever since I've seen the tweets about how insincere this song is especially in regards to Kesha and being a woman I kinda agree. If she was a supporter of women, she'd steer clear of anyone accused of sexual assault towards women. I can't see it any other way. The song is a total joke with dr Luke's name attached to it 3
Ghost Posted July 12 Posted July 12 The song misses a bridge. With it, it could have been MAJOR, but it settles on just good imo. Her vocal performance is great and the production is very well made, I love how it feels like an 80s synthpop throwback but robotic/futuristic at the same time. What I'm wondering though is... Why has this rollout been super promoted and focused so far if they aren't going to invest in the song's playlist reach? Is it to make up for it? Not sure what they're trying to achieve here, because judging from how this comeback has been presented, it seemed like Capitol was going to go all out but apparently... it isn't 3
Musicmajor Posted July 12 Posted July 12 (edited) The video was so insane, my jaw was literally open at the end like what did I just watch? There are a lot of easter eggs in there which is fun. Having the full song now, I think it's good. I don't get the urge to replay it though, unfortunately. I think as a bridge single into the new era, It's smart to do this as the lead. It's reminiscent of her older stuff (empowering anthems). Next single needs to bring IT! Edited July 12 by Musicmajor 3

Since he's not bringing a hit, there's no need to keep him.

Like what did she do? - Some TikToks & all the live streaming - FREE - Album listening parties - kinda standard practice for everyone - Paris Fashion Week - you are normally invited to be there, you don't pay to be there - Photoshoot - it LOOKS expensive but usually a photoshoot doesn't cost much if there's a great concept - Video - at the end I don't think the MV is that high-budget
