Hephaestus Posted July 12 Posted July 12 If she's spent more than 5 minutes writing the lyrics for this song she should probably reconsider her priorities in life because they're beyond embarrassing. The video is also incredibly cringy but Trisha popping up made me cackle so there's a least a positive (well, two if we consider the looks). Overall, a mess.

wehan6 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 hmm kinda disappointed this isn't on TTH will they maybe add it sometime throughout the week or do they only add songs every friday?

LETS GO!
Post Malone Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Banger but I don't think this strained style vocal production suits her. It works for Kim but it totally washes out Katy's natural voice which is ear candy
theboyismine Posted July 12 Posted July 12 There are songs out there which to this day I have no clue how they managed to become the smash hits that they are…Please x3 and Flowers come to mind first, so who knows this might blow up randomly. We'll see
PoisonedIvy Posted July 12 Posted July 12 I'm going to be honest, ATRL hates it which means it might end up being successful for her I just watched the video and it's the exact same amount of silly/camp/goofy with HINTS and DASHES of sexiness sprinkled in that her classic hits always had. Plus the "who r u?" "IM KATY PERRY" helicopter scene is like a representation of her reintroducing herself to a new, younger generation by going all out and shouting it from the heavens. I think she will stop at nothing to succeed this era and if she and her label want to, they -will- reap the benefits. But the song is still not good (imo), so we'll see how all that turns out! 1
thatsmydemi Posted July 12 Posted July 12 IT'S A WOMAN'S WORLD AND YOU'RE LUCKY TO BE LIVING IN IT IT'S A WOMAN'S WORLD AND YOU'RE LUCKY TO BE LIVING IN IT YOU BETTER CEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELEBRATE 'CAUSE WE AIN'T GOING NO WAY Yeah maybe she snapped 3 1

Kamaotori Posted July 12 Posted July 12 I like the video, not sure about the song yet, but maybe it's a grower? I think it should have more bass in the chorus and her vocals should be more raw and less processed.

Have you listened to it? It won't end up successful, it's the exact type of stuff that the streaming generation finds lame in an unfunny way I KNOW that 143 will be full of amazing bops, this one just was a poor choice that reeks of Smile leftover.

Yeah, it is literally giving something the DNC would blast if Kamala somehow won the Presidential election this November I guess you're right that I have to believe the younger generation has enough taste to not let this tumble up the charts
NextBish90 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 It's good, expected it to be a little longer. The production and her presence and devotion are noticeable. The video is giving budget and the single cover is excellent!

The lyrics are abysmal, I agree. I will just check out the album and hope for at least 5-6 songs I can take away 1 2
NextBish90 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 I would just add at the video that it's cringe again like her most videos and you almost can't take her seriously.
thatsmydemi Posted July 12 Posted July 12 All the 5 snippets she's shared so far sounds like they could be hits (either commercially or even critically - looking at you Nirvana and Gorgeous) but they went for this which is more like an intro song to the album, which in fact it is lmao.
Mirrorcle Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Dw guys, WW is just the buzz single. The real lead single is 'Gorgeous' coming out next week.
