despite strong messaging the song feels very hollow, and not only because she went back to Luke.

when female empowerment comes from someone like Beyonce, it feels right, but it's not the case with Katy since she refuses to evolve and chooses to stay tongue-in-cheek, overtly camp artist.

the revisionist history going on in here :rip: everyone hated this song and dragged Bey for the sample, please

the audacity

How so? I don't think Me is a good song either and I like both Katy and Taylor.

Am I some kind of hypocrite for disliking a song just because a song that I had no part in making (Me!) was released?

It's so crazy to me that she released this ****. Like I really thought she was coming for blood, but this is the lowest point of her career from all points of view

Nnn MTE. Like the cringey lyrics, bland production, uncatchy chorus…

She really needed to deliver THE bop if she was going back to you know who :deadbanana:

People still trolling pretending not to be able to hear the very clear differences between the AI "leak" and final version. :skull: I mean they have to be trolling... right? Hearing can't be that bad right? :deadbanana2:

You're still crying about this moot point :toofunny3:

It was a demo! And that's okay! Sheesh

It´s mostly inoffensive, but truly her weakest lead. Let´s just pray for great album tracks :biblio:

So that leak that people called fake is real.

The haters are working overtime I see. :bird:

anyway, this is an okay song with an upbeat production, not the best song out there, but it does it's job and is meant to be a statement. The snippets of the album I heard all sound better than this tbh.

It's clear that she wanted this to be a lead for obvious reasons, and she looks fantastic in the video. It's safe to say that the popstar Katy is back after clowning for so many years. And for that, we celebrate! Now let's just hope the era has more in store and the remaining singles choices will be perfect, we don't want another Legendary Lovers/Walking On Air/Roulette/Cry About It Later situation happening again. :gaycat2:

What exactly is the statement it's meant to make.

The production kinda saves this. The lyrics, on the other hand...

the song is a bit catchy, but still kinda dated and basic. I feel with the 4 years she had since her last album, she could've spent it exploring different producers that will challenge and give her inspo that pushes her talent further.

With the way this production sounds, I feel any other decent producer could have made this, and it was not worth the controversy going back to Dr L*ke.

I am just glad that I can identify clear differences in melodic patterns

its so funny you say that because today i actually literally put the leaked demo on top of the final version in audacity and the production is EXACTLY the same to the point that they cancel each other out LOL. in fact the verse vocals are EXACTLY the same as well.

You can hate the song all you want but this makes you look dumb

The song doesn't sound anything like the final product.

Which is why it's the perfect song to use for Kamala edits once she steps up for president. We're getting the streams from soccer moms one way or another! :sistrens:
