poll Better songwriting: TTPD vs Deeper Well

I recently came across the claim that 'TTPD is the greatest songwriting achivement of the year' on here. 

 

Personally I don't agree with the statement, and Deeper Well was one of the first things that came into my mind after reading that. 

 

Which album do you think showcases better songwriting? And are there other albums you would rate over TTPD in terms of songwriting?

Deeper Well is Kacey's weakest work. It makes 'star-crossed' seem like a masterpiece. Truth is Kacey hasn't served quality since 'Golden Hour'.

 

TTPD has excellent writing. But right now on ATRL is cool to hate Taylor right now and people pretending that she isn't the greatest songwriter of our generation - despite people with much more significant qualifications and who are far more reputable pointing this out - so I don't imagine this poll will be accurate.

Deeper Well and it's not even close. 

 

At least Deeper Well didn't have lyrics like this.

 

 

Kacey was talking about real, mature themes while Taylor was whining about a month-old relationship and singing about high school when she is 34 as of typing this. Also, at least Kacey didn't call herself a tortured poet while there are actual Palestinian poets going through genocide; at least Kacey didn't reveal her partner's depression; at least Kacey didn't victimise herself in every situation; and at least Kacey didn't use a mental health asylum aesthetic that is harmful and stigmatising.
