Am I the only one that thought TTPD was going to be a mature and sensual album?

Nope. The cover fooled us all. I thought she was finally going to take a leap and give us her Bedtime Stories but all we got was.. well.. not that far off actually

She's so calculated she probably can't even enjoy sex, even in her mid thirties. Stiff as a board. Even after all her experience given the various subjects of her numerous songs. One would think she would have found something mature, a bit risqué and sensual to express. But alas….

I knew it would sound like the album that came before it, and the one before that, and the one before that.

Why would anyone expect mature and grown from eternal high schooler Taylor Swift?

She'd need to be mature and sensual to make an album like that though? She's neither of those...

She fails every time at being sexy

Posted

you should've know better when she released the cover of Midnights that teased a moody, 70s inspired sound and yet we got "Sometimes I feel like everybody is a sexy baby" instead

Posted

With that cover? No. And I'm mad she wasted such a gorgeous cover on a subpar album.

Yes, same for the cover :suburban:

I definitely did but I'm pleased with what we got.

From its announcement I knew it would be God awful and I was right

idk why she chose that cover for the standard edition :rip:

the anthology cover suits the album better

So you learned nothing with 'Midnights'...

I didn't expect a big change in image or sound while the Eras tour is happening. Once that wraps up she will start a new "dynasty" and she will mark it with an artistic evolution I bet.

Not people in here saying they expected a Bedtime Stories-like album from Taylor swift of all people :ahh:

No, based on the pictures she teased it with... but I've learned not to trust those since she teased Midnights with these:

and we all know how the album turned out sonically

:suburban:

We need her to ditch Jack Antonoff

Midnights was actually sensual and mature for the most part... let's not.

Because sex is such a mature topic right? :skull:

listen to The Anthology. Chalk full of "mature" lyrics

Is she actually capable of doing that ? On one album? In real life?

Why do pop albums have to be sexualized? Like, no other genre expects their artists to sexualize at some point. But pop stars always carry that expectation. Bizarre.

Also, Taylor of all people seems to accept and even embrace her lack of sensuality. That wholesomeness is actually part of why she's huge. And I think part of why she's always going to be around. (Sexual pop stars don't tend to age gracefully…it becomes hard to pull off for the gp)

she has sensual songs, just not in front of your face like "hump me, if u seek amy. daddy better make me choke". but more like "get me with those green eyes, baby, as the light goes down. give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around"

but yes, she fooled me with that cover. i cannot stand this puta sometimes.

The thing is: Taylor is really vulnerable. Like, she will never make a song about how she doesn't care and how she's above her feelings. She's just that girl, she wears her heart on her sleeve and she will show it. Sometimes it will translate in mature songs like The Prophecy, loml, So Long London etc but having those feelings and feeling them in such a deep level often times will make you do silly stuff which can come off as cringe to other people, like she will fully admit she cried at the gym because of some guy and that she stalks him on social media to know how he's doing. And honestly? I can relate, so maybe that's why I like it so much. Love is embarrassing, it will make you act like a fool and maybe that's why Taylor is so relatable.

I'm vomiting

so you're telling me she doesn't release the same kind of music over and over again because that's what sells and she is known for, but because poor Taylor, she's a victim of love?

give me a break! She knows her audience and that's why you'll never see Taylor come out of her bubble. Reputation was her closest to a bad ***** era and in fact it was my favourite album of hers, but as soon as she's seen that image won't match the expectations and doesn't guarantee her aoty, she's gone back to "lover".

I thought that as well, but we got PTSD instead :clap3:
