Am I the only one that thought TTPD was going to be a mature and sensual album?

When Taylor Swift revealed the Art work for Tortured Poets Department at the Grammys  I assumed the album was going to be a mature and sensual album. I thought the album was going to be more exotic and playful with a hint of sexual innuendos. I just imagined the album would be about her failed relationships and finally being happy with her new man and all the ways he makes her feel romantically and sexually. My dumb-ass really believed  this album would be an image switch for her.

Sonically it is, especially with songs like Guilty as Sin and My Boy Always Breaks etc… but then there's I Can't Block Charli XCC With a Broken Variant and PTSD (song) :lakitu:

The thing is: Taylor is really vulnerable. Like, she will never make a song about how she doesn't care and how she's above her feelings. She's just that girl, she wears her heart on her sleeve and she will show it. Sometimes it will translate in mature songs like The Prophecy, loml, So Long London etc but having those feelings and feeling them in such a deep level often times will make you do silly stuff which can come off as cringe to other people, like she will fully admit she cried at the gym because of some guy and that she stalks him on social media to know how he's doing. And honestly? I can relate, so maybe that's why I like it so much. Love is embarrassing, it will make you act like a fool and maybe that's why Taylor is so relatable.

i thought this would be her bedtime stories album… aka r&b vintage pop with some glamourous soft rock moments. honey that wouldve been her magnum opus. but the standard version of the album aint all that bad. just very similar to midnights. sounds like they were made simultaneously (probably was)

I hope Y'all don't think I meant for Taylor to make twerk songs. I specifically said Sensual.

No, based on the pictures she teased it with... but I've learned not to trust those since she teased Midnights with these:

and we all know how the album turned out sonically

We need her to ditch Jack Antonoff

After 10 kindergarten albums, what made you think the 11th can be any different?

I think you guys often confuse being explicit about sex with maturity

She had me fooled. :dies:
Me writing Taylor and Selena with Avril cameos erotica in preparation for this era just for it all to be a scam.

Nah she always uses interesting concepts in her photoshoots and the music well we saw what happened with midnights

Some of her albums like evermore, folklore and reputation do match with her visual aesthetic tho

"taylor swift" and "mature" are mutually exclusive, so yes you were the only one
