No because this kinda hinges on whether or not an artist has released anything recently.

 

Beyonce's sales fluctuate a lot between her breaks and her release cycles but that doesn't mean that she drops out of being an MPG just because she didn't sell that many albums in 2020 when she was on a break

She's had consistent gigantic hits from 2017-2022. Just because her current era is flopping doesn't mean she's not a big pop star.
