Virgos Groove Posted June 10 Posted June 10 (edited) Inspired by this thread: DC's and Beyoncé's pre-ST discographies on Spotify are the bane of my existence. Five or more versions of albums, saturated covers, spelling errors, split remix singles, you name it. It's even worse on Tidal, where you have to scroll through 6 versions of B'Day and all the tracks have "(Album Version)" written on it. Dua's is a mess too. Her team should've united all the remixes and removed the useless versions before the new era started. It takes an hour to scroll through her singles section. Shakira's, on the other hand, was organized right before the pandemic and, besides the new singles, looks pretty clean. Mariah's old catalogue is pretty organized because of MC30, but things start getting messy towards the Emancipation era. Edited June 10 by Virgos Groove 3
TedLasso Posted June 10 Posted June 10 (edited) Kinda OT but I tried to switch to Spotify (much easier to access foreign and indie music) but they never get profiles right and that ruined it for me lol. Edited June 10 by TedLasso 1
Burn Posted June 10 Posted June 10 This is why you need to get on Apple Music so you can edit all that stuff. 2 2
Saint James Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Taylor's Red TV using a different apostrophe on spotify vs AM 3
Wicked Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Take your pick at any traditional pop, blues or jazz artist. All the remastered tags and several different versions of albums and reissues. Billie Holidays page is a nightmare. 5
NoAngelus Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Madonna's page is so bad, if i were a casual fan I wouldn't even bother exploring. Not to mention that in my country her first 3 albums are not even uploaded remastered! 1
Brikenbur Posted June 10 Posted June 10 (edited) Legendary vocalist Dionne Warwick For instance, her single "Looking With My Eyes" is titled "(Here I Go Again) Looking With My Eyes" on Apple Music and used to be "Lookin' with My Eyes, Seein' with My Heart a.k.a. Here I Go Again" on Spotify Edited June 10 by Brikenbur 4 1
BOAZ Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Basically anyone who has debuted before the streaming era has a messy spotify profile. I guess artists themselves don't care about these things, Taylor's is a MESS with all those compilations she released from folklore to red TV era and random stuff Also Gaga has a messy one, I. E. Having 10 different single remixes of Telephone (which also mess up Beyoncé profile :rip:) The most organized and pleasant to the eyes is Harry Styles'. He only got his 3 albums, straight and to the point. It's so easy to navigate. Plus he also forbid the use of its songs in those crappy genre compilations that most of time pile up in the "Featured In" section of an artist's page 5
Kevin Parker Posted June 10 Posted June 10 One of the reasons I hate deluxe versions is because they completely mess up with artist profiles on streaming platforms lol 1
Virgos Groove Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 (edited) Also, Wu-Tang Clan's profile is a MESS. Their label randomly decided to credit every member that rapped on a song as a feature, so their tracklists look like walls of text now. Pussycat Dolls feat. Nicole Scherzinger teas. Lana's bio just being "." there's nothing neater than that 1

More artists need to do that 3

JennyWayne Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Gaga's looks really messy since they added BTWTTA and DoC in 2021 and the Top Gun soundtrack in 2022 Also, both versions of TFM on her album page contain TF+TFM. You have to specifically search if you want the 8-song EP without TF 2

It's unfortunate these artists estates are so careless about this. You go to any of their pages you get overwhelmed and wanna leave. Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra seemed to have managed through playlists, but it's harder for Nina and etc,. who don't really have GP friendly "hits". 1
SweetenerNostalgia Posted June 10 Posted June 10 ariana's used to be well organized for me. and then yes, and happened 1
Vixen Eyes Posted June 10 Posted June 10 i need Eartha Kitt's estate to fix hers. we got songs that are only found on random obscure compilations or are literally only found on physical vinyl copies 1
Romova99 Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Kylie has kind of a messy Spotify too, the random featurings like MIMS, A. Guevara (wtf is he/she/they???) and Karen Poole too, there's too many random versions of her singles too, some bonus tracks from her albums not even on the albums (Go Hard or Go Home not being on Aphrodite but on a random compilation album with other artists). Dannii only having like 2 albums on Spotify
Pulse Posted June 10 Posted June 10 (edited) Most R&B acts from the early to mid 00s are a MESS: Low quality scanned album covers (pretty much most of them ) missing singles/albums (Nivea, Cassie, Mya) wrong years (Mya) disabled tracks because samples aren't cleared (Nivea, Shareefa) multiple profiles (LeToya/LeToya Luckett) I'm in the trenches and usually just end up listening to my local copies of their discographies. I can't figure out if they don't care or their ex-labels couldn't be bothered. I won't even go into so many artists that have their debut single available only through a compilation and nothing else on streaming. Out of the pop gurlies - Britney's "Britney" album always cracks me up, there's a ProSieben (German TV channel) logo in the left corner on Spotify Edited June 10 by Pulse 3
Taylor fanboy Posted June 10 Posted June 10 At least we now all know our faves are not suffering from OCD. Happy for them, not so much for me. 1
