Madonna even had a TV one, controversial as it may be to some lol, way back in 1994 called 'Innocence Lost.' We could also count 'Madonna and the Breakfast Club' (the one about her band/early years). There are several 90s women in music that have made-for-TV biopics: Toni Braxton, Aaliyah, TLC, etc. 2 acts that I'm kinda surprised no one's been able to do even a TV film on yet are Mariah Carey and Destiny's Child/Beyoncé, but then again there's probably all kinds of red tape preventing them: gag orders and NDAs placed on them by former managers and whatnot. The vast majority of popular female artists don't have any biopics that make it to theaters, curiously. I watched Innocence Lost like 2 weeks ago Made for TV movies was lowkey Hollywood bread and butter, they don't seem as invested no more. 1

But a DC biopic would be SO interesting, if they got the right sources. Their former vocal coach wrote a book about DC/Bey and he spilled so much tea about the breakup + the makings of the group that never went public. Tbh it made me feel so much more sad for Bey during that time frame. No wonder the poor girl was depressed. But yeah, if Mathew is in control we'll never get the legit story. They need to interview EVERYONE. OT: Britney. I know this is too early…but from 2020s: I'd say Doja. She seems to have the most interesting story + we know very little details about her personal life. From her estranged dad, abusive brother, growing up in an ashram with Alice Coltrane, internet scandals, Dr Luke dealings, etc. there's A LOT there already 1
FolkLover1989 Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Taylor biopic would be too much success Like every risk she takes mostly paids off and that surpassing her own imagination. So honestly let's see how her career goes in her 40s and 50s too to have an idea

Like you said, maybe she will face more adversity with time and that might create an interesting story. 1
Raphy23 Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Tegan & Sara had a tv series based on their high school life. 1
John Slayne Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Britney and Gaga would be the only interesting ones. Maybe Lana as well. The other MPGs are way too privileged and never experienced actual adversity to make for a good narrative with high stakes. No shade but Kim being mean to Taylor is not that interesting for a film. 1
goverm3nth0ker Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 (edited) I also think Selena Gomez but she already has her documentary so idk Edited June 10 by goverm3nth0ker
YourHonesty Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Britney has the most compelling narrative and as of right now her story feels the most complete. Bey and Gaga still seem poised to give us big career moments in the future so a biopic doesn't make sense just yet. Rihanna could give us a good biopic at this stage too, but she's still very young. It seems premature.
GAGAxMONSTER Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Selena Gomez's would be good. Poor family background, was a breadwinner at a young age, lupus, mental health struggles.

ericcartman Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Britney obviously Beyonce, Gaga, and Taylor Swift could as well. Taylor may not be super interesting but you know they will make one

I also love the 90s remake of Escape To Witch Mountain; Selma, Lord, Selma; Rodger's and Hammerstein's 'Cinderella'; Wish Upon A Star; Susie Q and Stephen King's 'IT' 1

They ain't making movies like they used to 1

I've read both that one and 'The Andretta Tillman Story' by Brian Kenny Moore. Both are interesting books, but kinda sad if everything in them is to be believed. I do wish there would be a biopic in my lifetime but a person... or two would have to pass first for that to happen, I fear. I didn't think about Doja but you've convinced me. Yes, biopic.
