Why isn't Piece of Me as iconic as Gimme More?

POM had everything to be Britney's core song - but it just isn't. Why isn't POM as iconic as GM?

because gimme more is just too big and influential therefore everything pales in comparison but piece of me still big

idk, i like gimme more just fine but piece of me and radar are the best songs on blackout no contest. all the autobiographical stuff in piece of me esp makes it such a great f*ck you to all the haters

Because it's the better song and GP don't always gravitate towards that :jonnycat:

It will be bigger after GTA6 use it on in-game radio stations.

I think "Gimme More" is more iconic due to the performance she did on the VMA's.

POM > GM

It's as iconic as GM imo

Because GM is darker, grittier and has an iconic opening line

POM does deserve its flowers though

It deserves to be, but Break The Ice clears both.

"I'm Mrs. 'Most likely to get on the TV for stripping on the streets' while getting the groceries - no, for real, are you kidding me?" should be as iconic as "It's Britney, *****" :michael: it's a really well written takedown of media culture that deserved to be bigger (those instrumental breakdowns too, chef's kiss).

Gimme More is just next level, POM is a cute girl but Gimme More was a cultural reset

Gimme More has the iconic intro line. I think POM is arguably the better song though. There was a lot of controversy about them using a body double for the music video and the GP was already against her after the Gimme More performance debacle.

God what a banger. Honestly one of the best pop songs ever

It's a 10/10 no doubt about it, but Gimme More is a 20/10, it's hard to compete with that.

Gimme More is the greatest pop song of all time, following it up is literally impossible. She almost did though, POM is Britney's second best song.

GM had that line + that performance. POM is superior but it couldn't even compete.

Wait WHAT? It's going to be featured on the soundtrack for the game?

How did I not know this:jonny5:

Give it time, the GP soon will see the greatest that is Piece of Me, just like they did with Gimme More.

Such a fantastic song :loki:
