I didn't hear anything about charts though. Britney, Adele, Zayn and Lana are probably the only ones who truly don't care about charts.

what he said about caring how people receive the music via concerts is true though.

Of course people want their work to sell but the chart obsession is silly and unhealthy. so many amazing songs never even reach the top spot yet become iconic classics

The list LMAOOOOOO

?

thee undisputed eternal princess of pop, hurricane adele, an amazing singer who puts out record after record without stepping on stage and Lana who's an alternative artist whose only hit on the charts is a dj remix while the rest of her career flourishes and has actual impact in the industry….

Oh I agree that Britney doesn't care.

Britney's the only artist of the past 30 years who I genuinely believe doesn't care about the charts, or awards for that matter. Most of the others though, I dunno.   :clack:

Yeah literally everybody cares maybe except for Adele so he didn't lie

I think most of them care, but he cares more than most based on comments he's made in the past.

my faves clearly don't care for charts they just do it because they enjoy it and love to spoil there small fanbases.

Ed's head is so up he thinks that.  it's why I never liked him

If he means mainstream artists, maybe. If he's talking about artists in general, then no. Even with perception, plenty of smaller artists don't get reviews, how will they know how they're perceived (outside of the people who support them via streaming etc.)? Some people do it for fun/self-expression and don't get discouraged by the lack of success.

ATRL gonna hate on him even though he's spitting fact. Beyonce and Billie immediately come to mind despite the way their fans try to push them being above the chart

He's right and he should say it. This new trend of stans bragging about their faves not caring while they relase sped up and slowed down versions of their albums and have their husbands meltdown on the Grammy stage saying they deserve an aoty award is so embarrassing.

Even Adele cares even if it's less for most.

She took Taylor's release date for Red TV since it was the best date to get Black Friday shoppers.
