Pikachoo Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I have a hard time saying it. My therapist has suggested that I look in the mirror and tell myself "I'm gay". As well as giving myself compliments in the mirror to improve my self esteem but it's a lot harder than I thought can you? 1

Skestina Posted June 6 Posted June 6 not really but when i say im everywhere like im julia i get a lot of self esteem 1 2
sweetblindness Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I'm mostly comfortable with my bi-ness...the only reason I'm not out is because I have some family members and a couple close friends that would likely be a bit judgmental about it. A few people in my circle of friends already know and I'm sure the rest can suspect it. I'm moving away later this year and plan on being out then. I have heard that repeating stuff like that in the mirror is helpful, "positive affirmations" and all (stream Affirmations by Hannah Diamond!).
KatyPrismSpirit Posted June 6 Posted June 6 my gawd the self loathing gay threads on this site have such a low vibrational energy attached to them 1
ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted June 6 ATRL Moderator Posted June 6 I would try, but I'm gay so I have body dysmorphia and can't look in the mirror 💔

Bloodflowers. Posted June 6 Posted June 6 No, I don't need unexpected visitors hear me talking to myself
UnusualBoy Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Yes, I can, that exercise of telling you nice things in front of the mirror works a lot to improve your self-steem, start with small things you like about your body like you eyes, mouth, etc. At the end when the lights are off who you're left with? With yourself so the best you can do is try to be in peace yourself and be your best friend. 3
