That's the issue though. They shouldn't have teased the new logo and everything if she wasn't ready to announce the new era or single. It's gonna be the same issue as Normani. When you announce something people talk about it and there's hype. But when you make weeks/months for follow up then everyone already stopped caring. 
 

There was no reason to tease fans with the new logo of the era isn't ready or not happening until July/August. Right now she NEEDS her fans to support her because the GP isn't checking for her new music. So if fans lose interest she has 0 chance at success

Now... I guess we'll have to see, but I don't think you can compare the two at all. Very sorry to my girl Normani, but she's the perfect example of an artist that exists solely because of twitter hype. She doesn't have the reach or the budget to push her single like Katy does, and that's why the lead bombed the way it did. Not to mention, Normani did announce the album and went on for months without giving a date. All Katy gave us so far is a logo.
