MatiRod Posted September 7 Posted September 7 I feel like this could win AOTY. The songwriting is really great, it has that 70s and acoustic sound that they really love. It's a timeless pop record and feels more "real music" (hate that term but it's the Grammys...) than something like Teenage Dream. 3

skyandground Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Is third week #1 expected? There should be no new threat this week, right?

Doja however, carved out her own lane of being a female rapper in the pop landscape and being able to switch back and forth between the two is something not a lot of artists can say they have, even Nicki still can't put out a fully unapologetic pop song because of all the **** she got back then for Starships. Whereas Doja went straight for the pop audience first and didn't bother pandering to the rap audience because they knew they wouldn't take her seriously. She's the chameleon. Too versatile to be stuck doing one particular sound forever which not only gives her lasting power but the ability to take risks, and that woman is honestly a true artist in every sense, pushing past the need to be an industry backed puppet anymore. Sabrina will get there one day, but I fear she's about to have a lot of different people in her head telling her what she should do after this massive commercial success. TLDR: Doja did pop because she knew it would unlock more opportunities for her to do whatever she wants later, Sabrina's doing pop because it's her passion. Oh, I am not reading all that on a weekend... 3
drivers license Posted September 7 Posted September 7 i kept trying to think of what Good Graces reminds me of exactly, but i guess it sounds so much like a Stacie Orrico song. is there anything else that i just can't pull out from my brain?

Well we have the Netflix special then and I know they will have some promo slot before the next leg and don't forget we have the Grammys which if she's nominated she's SO performing. It has always been like that. Anyway I don't think what she needs is promo at all, she has been everywhere since Espresso, she did SNL, performed on a lot of TV shows and radios in Europe, she performed on Jimmy Fallon and now are the VMA's. These promo slots are insane and I think their team have done a incredible job at promoting her and not oversaturating her to the GP and you can tell that by the longevity of the two singles and now the one that has been showing Taste. The tour will just stay the album alive from itself.
