Sabrina Carpenter - 'Short n' Sweet'

Over the years, I have heard a lot of female pop albums from the veterans like Madonna to the rookies of the likes of Tate McRae and there have been plenty of amazing works. However, I can say with complete and utter confidence that Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet is a record of rare form. Not only are the perfectly intersected niche lyrics of quirky and confessional present, the product excels thanks to the compliments of Sabrina's diverse vocals from the high and sweet delivery to the low and emotionally gut-wrenching ones. While all of her previous works are solid efforts from Eyes Wide Open to emails i can't send, Short n' Sweet feels like the very time I am experiencing Sabrina's life through her artist delivery. There is something that just works so well here it undeniably clicks with me and makes me want to follow her every single step of the way from this moment forward. Ironically, "Espresso" and "Please Please Please" have both become huge hits in this present time where Sabrina is showcasing the best album of the year. Every time she coons "Don't embarrass me, motherf**ker", I can't help but smile because all of that working late sure paid off!

Every time she WHATS

its like taylor swift for poors, or female shawn mendes

by that i mean nonoffensive music, but nothing to write home about, interestingly her emails era was better sound to me personally

nonsense is better than this whole album,

but not to be too gloomy i personally enjoyed good graces, i think id like her songs a lot more if she didnt sound so thin when going high notes + her tone is super basic

im 100% noone would care for her if shes not walking in corsets and panties all the time, shes like sexyred but for whites

I'm still collecting my thoughts on this album.

EICS grew from an album with only a few strong tracks for me to being one of my favorite pop albums of all time, so it's possible I'll need a lot of time with this one as well.

I definitely prefer Emails to this, but I can appreciate this album for trying to show that there's something for everyone here. She's pulling from a ton of influences and is showing she can pull off all their sounds.

I feel like the cheeky lyrics/jokes are hit or miss, but I'm glad they're becoming a core part of her brand.

Favs so far:

Please Please Please

Coincidence

Sharpest Tool

Lie To Girls

Juno

I didn't like this album at all. Espresso and Please Please are amazing, but the rest of the album sounds like a Taylor Swift album and that's definitely not a good thing.

I was expecting waaaaay more from this release.

Y'all...I am floored.

As a long-time fan, this is EVERYTHING I've ever wanted from her. Immaculate production, sparkling pop bangers full of wit and personality and some of the best songs I've heard this year. I'm so so impressed. I love all the '90s and early '00s sounds too.

on initial listens my new faves are:

Taste

Good Graces

Sharpest Tool

Bad Chem

Juno

Based on the wide range of reactions to this album I was concerned I might not like much beyond the singles, but I think there are quite a few songs that I would go back to.

I think the Antonoff songs are the worse ones on the album, but not necessarily because of the production, but the melodies aren't as interesting. However I don't dislike any of the songs actually. Even the less interesting songs had solid lyrics or tea about the relationship drama.

And the album definitely lives up to its name. Overall a very solid album by Sabrina, may not be AOTY but it should give her a lot of success. I'm still not sure whether I like it more than EICS or not. I'll have to listen to it more and figure out whether the album sticks with me like EICS did.

girl, maybe you should enter that school?

even on this page someone posted her in same type of clothes (nothing against it, i dress the same, i just call it how it is cause music is def not there which her being on her sixth album and people thinking its her debut says for itself). sexyred is being accused of "spreading lack of morals" among black community, sabrina is literally same thing but for whites (blond and blue eyed person), songs are about being side chick (no morals)

btw being catty and petty

lyric from sabrina:

Oh, I leave quite an impression
Five feet to be exact
You're wonderin' why half his clothes went missin'
My body's where they're at

i mean, im no prude, but we wont pretend sabrina is some catholic woman (lol)

These lyrics are demure next to Sexyy, be so serious

You don't see Sabrina singing "lick between my coochie crack", do you?

Anyone else wants Espresso to go number 1? :deadbanana2:

It's a one high profile remix away. Imagine SZA / Bey / Taylor. Heck even Chapell.
