aleksanderbgu Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I wasn't sure about Taste but know I'm sure it was the perfect single choice
PrismaticOwen Posted August 23 Posted August 23 one of the albums of the year for me for sure the cohesive production and lyricism... yes ma'am!!! this album radiates personality she really has everything to be THEE next main pop girl if she keeps this upward trajectory in terms of artistry up 1
ALA Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Taste, Good Graces and Bed Chem are all hits if she releases more singles this could be one of the biggest pop eras in years oop
Tylerbv Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Am I the only one who hears I Touch Myself in the chorus of Taste (brand new sentence..). The higher note sounds the exact same.
Alex Posted August 23 Posted August 23 can't get over how Bed Chem and Don't Smile are instantly her best songs ever 4
Relampago. Posted August 23 Posted August 23 It's a cute album. I'm not blown away and probably won't come back to it often, but it's a very smart follow up to Espresso and Please x3. I'm sure she'll see lots of success with this.
Popboi. Posted August 23 Posted August 23 The Apple Music positions are CRAZY, more and more confident she's doing over 200k
DAP Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Figures the good songs on this album are all the non-Antonoff produced tracks 1

halcyonday Posted August 23 Posted August 23 It's hard these days to have many hits after you release an album so big. I hope she pushes Bed Chem remix with someone hot to bring new life into the song. Then premiere another breezy song around when Espresso was released and push the final song with the deluxe release. 1
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Loved this on first listen. Honestly won't be shocked if this album ends up being this decade's equivalent to Teenage Dream. Her personality and creative way of wording her thoughts/feelings really shines throughout the album. She's simultaneously sarcastic and biting but also easy/breezy with her beautiful soft tone. Something about this album is instantly relaxing and soothing. But at the same time the melodies are all really strong. She should consider eventually collabing with Dolly Parton or maybe performing Slim Pickins at the Grammys with legend.
Taste of Honey Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Don't Smile is my favorite, so not surprised it's the lowest on Apple Music. Being the last song though I get it.
americanlife Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Is it just me or does her voice sound like SZA at times

There are fun moments and some interesting lyrics but they end before most songs fully develop. I think a lot of it can be traced back to the production (ie: the production on the second verse of Sharpest Tool)
Walk_Away21 Posted August 24 Posted August 24 I was just thinking Sharpest Tool is the Fresh Out The Slammer of SNS @wastedpotential @Taylor fanboy 1 3
Acuminatus Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Bed Chem is soooo good. The R&B throwback sound works so well for her. Giving a similar vibe to what Ariana was going for on Eternal Sunshine. 1
skwonderfactory Posted August 24 Posted August 24 (edited) Over the years, I have heard a lot of female pop albums from the veterans like Madonna to the rookies of the likes of Tate McRae and there have been plenty of amazing works. However, I can say with complete and utter confidence that Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet is a record of rare form. Not only are the perfectly intersected niche lyrics of quirky and confessional present, the product excels thanks to the compliments of Sabrina's diverse vocals from the high and sweet delivery to the low and emotionally gut-wrenching ones. While all of her previous works are solid efforts from Eyes Wide Open to emails i can't send, Short n' Sweet feels like the very time I am experiencing Sabrina's life through her artist delivery. There is something that just works so well here it undeniably clicks with me and makes me want to follow her every single step of the way from this moment forward. Ironically, "Espresso" and "Please Please Please" have both become huge hits in this present time where Sabrina is showcasing the best album of the year. Every time she coons "Don't embarrass me, motherf**ker", I can't help but smile because all of that working late sure paid off! Edited August 24 by skwonderfactory 5 2
