Great Username Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Come right on me, I mean camaraderie Said you're not in my timezone, but you wanna be Where art thou? Why not uponeth me? See it in my mind, let's fulfill the prophecy She is inventing lyricism on this ablum omg. Why is every sing so infectious. Bed Chem the sparkling disco jam you are
Great Username Posted August 23 Posted August 23 You make me wanna make you fall in love the most addictive micro-hook of the year I feel Oh Katy babe...
eclipsed Posted August 23 Posted August 23 The album reminds me of so many artists, but another one I just realised it gives Carly Rae on songs like Juno or Taste
rebeltwat Posted August 23 Posted August 23 this is such a wonderful introduction to the GP era for her excellent single choices and accompanying music videos
Jay L Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Good Graces omg I would have loved more of those kind of songs on the album
KasioKas Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Great record I could immediately tell from listening to the first few songs and checking credits which songs i'd like more... Good Graces is my fave on first listen, don't smile is an excellent closer, very pretty.
KasioKas Posted August 23 Posted August 23 That old school rnb production on bad chem, I hear it. I appreciate it. What's the sample?
Burqa Posted August 23 Posted August 23 the slower songs are great but it would benefit a lot from having 3 more songs like espresso or bed chem i dislike good graces in the context of the album so much, it sounds like a random singular act 2 scrap. there's no bad song but for me eics washes with ease
Twilish Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I'm sorry but Juno washes 3/4ths of this album alone this pop SMASH. Katy should be hitting up Sabrina for ideas cause this is what we wanted. 1
Shinning Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I like the album. It's easy and breezy and fun. My favorites are Taste, Good Graces and Juno. I think her vocal delivery is weird at times though. She sounds kinda weak and frail at times. She didn't sound like this at all on emails.
liquiddiamonds Posted August 23 Posted August 23 (edited) Made the mistake of listening to this right after Magdalene Bay's. The synth work there and the chillwave atmosphere are next level ****. I will have to return to S'n'S to make it justice. Still this was entertaining and cute. I liked the country undertones. I think she found herself along the retro/bedroom pop numbers. I still think she keeps us at arm lengths with the punchlines and the sarcasm, but definitely her strongest body of work so far, because it pushes her identity more to the forefront than emails did. She has to figure some stuff out because some numbers were giving Taylor by way of Ariana straight out of a producers' room. Her best work is definitely comin in a few years. She has come a long way from her Hollywood albums Edited August 23 by liquiddiamonds
MusicLoverDude Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Easily this album is some of her best work. It's amazing what can happen when you don't have cheap Hollywood Records producers holding you back. Juno is an instant favorite
