Kristen Posted August 23 Posted August 23 The production on this is just sublime. Instant AOTY contender for me! 1

It was reminding me of a specific Shania song too, but I couldn't place it. Do you know which one it is? Like @Walk_Away21 mentioned, I think Juno's chorus sounds like the pre-chorus of Forever and Always but there's another one it's reminding me of, too. The overall melodic structure of Juno is very Faith Hill, late 90s/early 2000s country pop 2

The chorus of Juno has almost the exact same melody as the chorus of When from Shania's Come On Over album.

Well numbers are numbers anyway. The way she managed to get 3/4 songs from the album -excluding the singles- on AUS and NZ Spotify shows that the numbers tomorrow will be HUGE she's really coming to dominate and hold no grudges
CottageHore Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Anyone know the critical reception of this? Why is there no Metacritic page?

Either way it's a win for her. 55 minutes ago, CottageHore said: Anyone know the critical reception of this? Why is there no Metacritic page? The Independent gave it a 4/5. Clash gave it 7/10. UnusualBoy Posted August 23 Posted August 23 This is a good album. I could without 2 songs aka Coincidence & Slim Pickins but the rest go from good to excellent. My fave tracks are: Good Graces Juno Don't Smile Bed Chem Lie To Girls is also kinda up there, I just wish the outro kept going a bit longer and explode, it had potential to be bigger.
PopMusicJunkie Posted August 23 Posted August 23 There's a few other cuts -- "Taste," "Good Graces," "Sharpest Tool," and "Don't Smile" -- that could have worked as leads. Very solid album overall.
alexaalto Posted August 23 Posted August 23 (edited) didn't find a "HQ" of this variant here but if so, here again Edited August 23 by alexaalto 1
