Poptart89 Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 (edited) Spoiler Someone who went to the listening party said Taste makes you want to dance and a lot of people seem to be putting it in their top 3 (along with Bed Chem & Good Graces), so looks like we're getting an upbeat single for round 3. She is way bigger than she was with her last album. With Taylor pushing her and her two huge songs the GP is interested in any new music she is putting out. Taylor may even back off her endless variants to help her out. Getting a number one is a given. Well Travis Scott is releasing Friday so she might acc not. It's a rerelease but has new songs. Travis can do insane numbers. Also it's SoundCloud songs so new fans haven't heard them yet, they were taken off the site a long time ago I believe Edited August 21, 2024 by Matchatea

Julia Fox Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Descriptions of Taste and Bed Chem on the Paper article: Quote In "Taste," Carpenter speaks plainly about messy relationship dynamics, mixing lyrics like "I've been known to share" and "you'll just have to taste me when he's kissing you." When asked if she's ever reluctant to write so boldly about taboo topics, especially in relation to past coverage she's had in the press, Carpenter explains what she calls the "scary truth." She says, "I will write any song. It doesn't mean I'll put it out, but I'll write it. I think the series of unfortunate events I've encountered in relationships are no secret to people who know me or think they know me." Quote "Bed Chem," another album highlight, shows off Carpenter's sensual side over sexy, groovy production. "There was a lot of steam in the studio. It was real hot and heavy," Carpenter says, deepening her voice seductively, before breaking into laughter. "No, I'm kidding. My friend Paloma [Sandoval] and I coined the term ['bed chem']. I went to the studio that day and was like, 'I have this title and idea, and we have to make it sexy and a little bit unserious at the same time because it is such a ridiculous concept." The track's throwback sound pulls from the songs Carpenter grew up listening to. "I love Christina [Aguilera]," she says. "That was one of my very first idols and icons. I was 11 years old and you couldn't get her name out of my mouth. She's very special to me. Those songs raised me." There are definitely traces of pop icons of the past throughout Short n' Sweet, but it shifts from country to pop to R&B to disco. Carpenter is excellent at genre-hopping. 1

CottageHore Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 I clocked that as Jenna from the moment I saw the photo because they're both the same height aka short and sweet
freshoutthebuffet Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 I've never been a fan of Sabrina apart from a song or two here and there but I'm pumped for this album. We haven't seen an era like this since Gaga's Fame / Fame Monster (Charli's kinda doing it with BRAT but not to this degree). Each song and visual is thematically consistent and feels like a piece to a bigger picture. Pop music is finally back 1
jdanton2 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 if like alot of other albums it could be out in New Zealand in less than 12 hours.
