Kern Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Very often in the streets I can hear voices say 'Cate Blanchett still has a chance to end up with more oscars than Meryl Streep" but do you think that's true?
Donquizote Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Yes, she hasn't slowed down booking those Oscar bait roles. I think her 3rd and 4th will come sooner than later.
Dark Miracles Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Should have won her 3rd already for Tár. The one time a woman gets to play a DDL-tier character, even outdid every DDL performance with it IMO and still didn't win. 2 1

GAGAxMONSTER Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Yes. They used to gate keep this but not anymore. I mean even Ms McDormand has a better Oscar win resume than Meryl.
fridayteenage Posted June 3 Posted June 3 no i see there are people still pressed at Asian Excellence having the best win of the century in this thread 1
SoldierofLove Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Yes. She will be the go to actor for older white lady roles after Meryl retires. 1
Green Posted June 3 Posted June 3 She will tie her at least She had bad luck with TAR which was the same year of Michelle and it would have won any other year this decade 1
Green Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Frances McDormand could also end with more Oscars (she has 3 lead Oscars, only Katharine Hepburn has more)
Liafen Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Yes, methinks. Not winning for Tár (and Carol) will help with the general sentiment of awarding her the third. Another baity performance in her 60s should push her to fourth. 3 hours ago, Green said: Frances McDormand could also end with more Oscars She already has more Oscars
Feanor Posted June 3 Posted June 3 If she had won with TÁR, then I would've said yes. Now I think she'll "only" end up with 3 acting Oscars, while Meryl will be the one the Academy will deem worthy of tying Hepburn's record (although even that isn't guaranteed).
harwee Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Very possible. She's literally in 4 upcoming high profile films releasing in the next 2 years. She's a prolific shape shifter.
