Popular Post ChrisTheLoner Posted May 27 Popular Post Posted May 27 See and that's whats wrong with a lot of music nowadays, its too short! Tiktok is the main culprit of it because anything that becomes a hit based off that is catered to a crowd that has the attention span of a goldfish. I'm sorry but a bridge is exactly what's needed to make a song complete imo. Most songs without one just feel like a flash in the pan which is a shame because they are quite enjoyable except for when they end too abruptly Challenge to these newer artists, bring back longer songs, do that challenge 33 5

CottageHore Posted May 27 Posted May 27 (edited) I saw this interview and my eyes were rolling when she said that. I get that if a song doesn't lend itself to be certain length, don't force it but making nothing but 1 or 2 minute songs is just lazy and shows you don't value storytelling and world-building at all, which is okay because we need short easy listening bops too, but the one thing her music is lacking is story and intrigue and it's because she never allows her songs and to flourish and expand. Popular Post MatiRod Posted May 27 Popular Post Posted May 27 I'm sorry Miss Pantheress but I must object, stream my latest single which has not one but TWO bridges and is over 4 min long! 25 4 5
Kayseri Mantisi Posted May 27 Posted May 27 this is what you say when you can't write bridges like Lorde or Lana Del Rey 4 1 2

LatinFreak Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Shes probably anti features too, after Ice Spice completely overshadowed her in her own song. 2 1
JO1s Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Just now, LatinFreak said: Shes probably anti features too, after Ice Spice completely overshadowed her in her own song. She has 2 other features on her album. You're yapping just as much as her.
The Next Day Posted May 27 Posted May 27 (edited) I think you should think about what the song needs and not what you need. If the song is perfect with 2:30 minutes, fine. But a 6 minute song can be perfect as well. 9 minutes ago, MatiRod said: I'm sorry Miss Pantheress but I must object, stream my latest single which has not one but TWO bridges and is over 4 min long! Come on promo! If the song needs a Kraftwerk-like robot voice in one of the choruses, then you need to give it to the song! And the "Part of me belongs to you" is one of the best parts, why would someone think it's not necessary? Edited May 27 by The Next Day
fridayteenage Posted May 27 Posted May 27 she says a song should be max 2:30 yet "Capable of Love" 3:43 "Blue" 3:01 actually most of her album is over 2:30, though several of those still under 3 mins
TROJAN Posted May 27 Posted May 27 That works for her, and that's okay. Music has so many possibilities, we shouldn't be putting ourselves in a box. 4
ariesgroove Posted May 27 Posted May 27 im pretty sure she's talking about her own musical process but it does work for her so 3
VeniceBeach Posted May 27 Posted May 27 It's funny how her longest song (Capable Of Love) is the best one on the last album while the rest are unlistenable duds. Maybe you need bridges AND outros babygirl 1 1 2
Popular Post Virgos Groove Posted May 27 Popular Post Posted May 27 This newer generation of artists needs to be sent to a boot camp and be trained by Beyoncé, Mariah, Taylor and Michelle Williams, because what do you mean we don't need BRIDGES??? 13 2
