Timeless Posted May 26 Posted May 26 It's thanks to the non-binary and pronouns community over the past few years and the hypersensivity of it all. All the absurd gender ideologies are making the entire LGBT look bad and causing people to lash out. 12 3 11
Sabrina Carpenter Posted May 26 Posted May 26 i came across that video on tiktok… i was shocked at the likes like damn
Price of Fame Posted May 26 Posted May 26 The left has been very obnoxious and annoying and it turns people off even those who would normally be allies 5 1 6
Gwendolyn Posted May 26 Author Posted May 26 (edited) People in here actively siding and agreeing with anti trans people and politicians who want to straight up do a Russia 2.0 and repel gay marriage and implement don't say gay laws across America and Western Europe.. God help us Edited May 26 by Gwendolyn 2 3
MasterExpose Posted May 26 Posted May 26 The progress made over the years was slow but steady, people are trying to change things too fast for others to get used to it. Would it take years for that? yes, sadly but that's how you build tolerance 2
roso Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Yes, and some of you need to understand that having some rights thrown at us ≠ being fully accepted. We're not, and probably won't ever be, which is why we'll always have to push back and fight against oppression/the majority and for each other. Trans/non binary people are not the one causing damage to our cause, the right is. 2 1
Stimulus Posted May 26 Posted May 26 (edited) Very disappointing to see trans people being blamed for homophobia and transphobia. Social conservatives have shifted to exploiting trans rights as a wedge issue for political purposes because too many people support gay and lesbian rights in 2024. These social conservatives will always pick a group that's small enough for them to bully and use as a scapegoat to cause a moral panic. Trans rights are human rights and supporting trans people is the right thing to do. This will become even more obvious in a decade or two as trans acceptance increases, the same way racial equality gained acceptance in the past century. Edited May 26 by Stimulus 8

I just think most of us, homosexual transexuals (the most marginalised type of transexuals of all) are NOT fighting For that lost cause. It's the other type of trans who does that. The One who doesn't experience same SEX attraction Hetero folks, pretty much 4

Christianity isn't the only culprit I'm confused on how you see Trump and automatically think of Christians when he's clearly not one. I never said anything about a religion
Trent W Posted May 26 Posted May 26 (edited) The trans-hating videos I've seen online lately are mostly the ones claiming stuff like "there is no difference between a bio woman and a trans woman" or videos with the "1000 pronouns" topic which are too controversial. There needs to be a difference between describing something real and something like "there is no difference between trans women and bio women" ideas that are not real, which falls into the sports topic for example Imo trans people need to be respected as much as bio women but acknowledging the differences and not fall into a fantasy Homophobes and transphobes are using these points to destroy the lgbt community as a whole because a lot of people are using a fantasy that doesn't exist to get their ideas across We need to be realistic to get the point across. TotallyHot Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Everything started to go to hell the minute people decided to give Caitlyn Jenner too much attention. There have been COUNTLESS homosexual transexuals who never received that kind of attention and we have been able to blend in into society For literally decades. 1
Keter Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I have to agree with those saying they don't feel any increased scrutiny as a member of the LGB. Haven't noticed it at all. 1
bliaz Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Here in Mexico (I speak for my country, but I guess it is the same in all Latin America) there is a lot of homophobia, transphobia, racism, intolerance in all social networks. You open the comments on YouTube about a trans news and it's hell, 98% ugly comments. And in person no way, even little kids are homophobic, they use homophobic insults as if it was the most normal thing.
shyboi Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I feel like 2017- 2020 was utopic for the community but after that everything is going downhill
LegaMyth Posted May 26 Posted May 26 That's why they were screaming "free speech." They want to say the vile things about people and get away with it.

Quiqui4eva Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Thanks to Elon! It's so demoralizing to see these attitudes carry over from there and grow in several other social media sites 1

I'm not separating the two, I'm saying that all the backlash trans people have been receiving has emboldened people to come after LGBs in a way that they haven't before. Anyway in my country there isn't as much of an anti-gay sentiment, it's definitely all concentrated on trans people and gender ideology I'm not missing the point, because if you look at this very thread, people are doing exactly what I'm saying. 1 1
Digitalism Posted May 26 Posted May 26 The internet made you think people had changed because they had been silenced in mass media. Now they are showing their true colors again and they don't care.

If a bigot is looking for an excuse (trans women in women's sports etc.) to be homophobic, they were already homophobic all along. The LGB turning their backs on the trans community is just so f***ing pathetic and cowardly. 4 hours ago, roso said: Yes, and some of you need to understand that having some rights thrown at us ≠ being fully accepted. kimberly Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I've been noticing the horrible comments on Instagram for a while now, a lot of transphobic, homophobic, misogynistic, fatphobic etc. "jokes" getting 100k+ likes in the comments... it's been getting worse. Facebook was already a dumpster and Twitter turned into one the second Elon bought it. I think these platforms need to be doing a much better job moderating their comments. It's so silly that they don't need to abide by any "editorial" laws because they aren't technically providing the content -- so they get to host the nasty comments and worldviews. It's a policy issue. Because guess what? People wouldn't be so outwardly bigoted if it didn't get them likes/clicks/engagement/money. The prevalence of social media and rage-bait content is causing severe regression in gay rights, women's rights, trans rights.
Patient Zero Posted May 26 Posted May 26 (edited) I really do think it's because of the trans and non-binary hate as of late. Especially the gender ideology has many people confused and bothered. The gays receive collateral damage because they fall under the same LGBTQ+ label as trans and non-binaries... Not all trans and non-binary haters are homophobic. There are actually many gays who are transphobic and hate on non-binaries as well... Edited May 26 by Patient Zero 2 2
