Miles. Posted May 27 Posted May 27 (edited) I like Billie, but she's dead wrong here. I have never once been to a concert and gotten to the end and felt like it was enough. You are always left wanting more. Multiple favorites are always left out due to time constraints. And especially with prices going up and up and up... 60-90 minutes generally doesn't feel like you're getting your money's worth if you're paying 200+ dollars. I understand it's not possible for most artists due to financial, time, and physical constraints, but in an ideal world most concerts would be three hours. People pay thousands of dollars and plan whole days, sometimes whole weekends, sometimes whole trips around these events. Three hour concerts would be amazing. The success of the Eras Tour and the Eras Tour Movie prove this. Edited May 27 by Miles. 1
Miles. Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Also, this attitude is how we're getting 2 minute songs, 10 track albums, 1 music video per era, artists dissing their own work, and minimal promotion from a lot of young artists nowadays. It's like it's cool or edgy to be above it all, to not care about your own career or art. In actuality, it should be the opposite. I respect someone so much more who is giving 110% in all aspects to deliver the best music and overall experience they possibly can. Bring back EFFORT.
Mr. Duff Posted May 28 Posted May 28 While I agree it's tiresome, when you really love the artist, 3 hours are not enough. I've been to a lot of concerts now and the most recent one is The Eras Tour in Stockholm, and I really wanted more despite it being more than 3 hrs. That's how fun and great it is. To each his/her/their own I guess, but I disagree with Billie on this one. I feel bad for her fans though who wants a 3-hr concert that she can't give. Well to be honest her discography isn't built for 3-hr shows (maybe with more albums in the future) and as much as I love her ballads they cannot sustain a great show. Well that's just me. I will see her next year in Dublin though so I'll reserve my comments about her tour.
loveisdead9582 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 … just because Billie can't whisper for three hours straight doesn't mean fans don't want to hear a three hour concert (if it's good). Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick road tour was about that long and he was phenomenal. Taylors fans clearly don't have an issue with a three hour long concert. If Beyoncé decided to do a three hour long concert you bet it would be sold out. Spoiler And yes, I'm being slightly sarcastic in the first sentence
Pillz Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Taylor's like the Regina George of pop, and Billie's like Janice lol If we can only get her to knock her down a peg 2
