Why do y'all always resort to "no promo" excuse when someone doesn't do well

Cause if Katy had no promo then what was the Grammys, Brits, Carpool Karoke, Ellen, etc

She made it very clear to the public she had a new album coming out.

The Grammys? The Brits? We didn't even know the name of the album back then and all the promo happened weeks before the release week. It's not like the GP went running and mark in the calendars: "Katy's releasing in June 9th" :deadbanana:

Dragging Katy can be so tiring. With Gaga and ArtPop, it's quite entertaining because even though the album underperformed heavily, it didn't outright flop so it's not THAT tragic. But Katy and Witness, this floppage is unprecedented from someone of her calibre, it's really unbelievable. I knew something was bound to happen when that 45k sale figure came in, but I didn't expect her floppage would reach a new level.

Carpool Karaoke was the only one that was done close to the album release tho, the others were months ago for CTTR :rip: she only announced the album 3 weeks before its release

Mmk. Y'all are being obtuse...

- The music simply isn't connecting and that's been evident from her singles but she most definitely had promo for this era.

Heck she even had some kind of deal with Spotify equipped with ads yet her SPS is alarmingly low.. Y'all gonna blame lack of promo for that too

No ****ing way. :ahh:

I am not surprised. She deserves it for not relasing Witness or Roulette as single.

The music is just not that good or at least catchy to get some attention from the GP.

Kanye's album was not on sale like other albums, y'all need to stop including it in those sales based lists. It wasn't available on iTunes/Amazon/or anywhere online but his website, and there was no physical version of it. It also cost $20 on his site for an MP3 download, and it wasn't even ever promoted as being on sale. It was marketed as a streaming album. Most of his fanbase had no clue it was even for sale on his site.
