im talking about quality :hoetenks:

I looked them up and they're on par. Brat 95, s&s 82, ES 84. I'm sure there's a few others with less acclaim that bake three in the list

HOW is Eternal Sunshine not nominated for AOTY and S&S and bRAT are :biblionana:, HMHAS better win tho

S&S and Brat were two of some of the biggest eras of 2024. ES came and went but both these eras marked their footholds in 2024 pop culture. This should come off as literally no surprise lol

Whether you've heard the song or not is irrelevant. Some of you forget Grammys are about the quality of the MUSIC itself, not how successful/popular it was (maybe with the exception of categories like SOTY/ROTY).

That is so not true..

It is 25% Music Quality (merit), 25% Artists' Name/Brand, 25% Success, 25% Payola/Connections/Campaigning?

At least, that's how I see it

I Get A Kick Out Of You getting into ROTY in 2022 but DWAS missing it this year :deadbanana2: Thank you Tony I guess

I mean, the best thing about that song is the melody and vocal performances, not really the production so, it makes sense it wasn't nominated for ROTY.

Like every year, some things are just too undisguised and blatant. Songs like WCBF get snubbed while nepo baby Gracie Abrams sticks out like a sore thumb, and only in Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for a song that features her mentor Taylor Swift :dies:

but DWAS is nominated for SOTY

Yeah sorry. I meant that she barely has a shot winning it the song is not making it as well to ROTY no? Not that they go together but it's not a good sign to even get nominated there.

I also think those two albums were just better in quality overall than ES. Ariana's creative peak as TUN and Positoins tbh.

Well that's kinda my point. The songs can be good or not but theyll always nominate whatever she sends. This is not even talking **** I said good for her. Only her, adele and swift have this kinda power to send album tracks and be nominated all the time.

not necessarily, its just a very competitive year this year. it probably barely missed ROTY.

What's up with "Lose Control" snub though? I dislike the song, but it was the #1 song of the year in the US :deadbanana:

"Beautiful Things" was snubbed, too.

I hope that Chappell gets everything :alexz:

WCBF not getting a single nomination is criminal

'Javelin' should've been an album of the year nominee, that's the biggest snub IMO. This was the perfect album to finally recognize Sufjan with. Oh well.

still not knowing how BNA works in 2024 as a music fan is lowkey embarrassing...

I feel like we should all be able to agree that even tho we are aware how BNA works it's still a bit weird for someone like Sabrina to be getitng a nom there :rip:  I get it tho and I'm personally not mad, but it's in fact weird, they should change the rules again and adjust them. Obviously what happened with Gaga was dumb and the rule had to be changed, but this is also kinda dumb too nn.

Beautiful Things (and Lose Control) being snubbed when with Espresso they are the biggest songs of the year... And then you all talk about the girls being snubbed when they get nominated with much less successful songs 😵‍💫

They should change the name of the category to Breakout Artist of the Year because that's probably what the category should be. :rip:

I don't even like Ariana that much but Eternal Sunshine was an excellent album! It deserved an AOTY nod. But it was a jam packed year.

For my own safety, not even going to comment on Cowboy Snoozer...
