Also: Can yall save your meltdowns for the very unlikely case she goes home with more than 3 Grammies? Thanks.

Cause this clearly feels like a setup to only give her 1 or 2 max tbh

What's up with "Lose Control" snub though? I dislike the song, but it was the #1 song of the year in the US :deadbanana:

"Beautiful Things" was snubbed, too.

To be fair, there's been a... curse of sorts when it comes to the #1 Billboard Year-End songs this decade:

-> "Blinding Lights" (2020): Egregiously snubbed.

-> "Levitating" (2021): The DaBaby remix would have been eligible, but Dua decided to not submit it due to her collaborator's homophobic controversy that summer. Didn't bother to submit a live version either.

-> "Heat Waves" (2022): Originally released in June 2020, it became a major sleeper hit. Glass Animals actually attempted to submit a live recording following the song's success, but it went unnoticed.

-> "Last Night" (2023): Somehow, the first YE #1 of the 2020s to get a Grammy nomination, for Best Country Song. However, since Morgan Wallen wasn't part of the writing process, he didn't get the nomination.

-> "Lose Control" (2024): A less extreme version of "Heat Waves" ' sleeper hit trajectory, which still put Teddy Swims at disadvantage for this year's submissions.

BNA
Lose Control (Live): ROTY, Pop Solo Perf
The Door (CYRIL Remix): Remixed Recording

I guess that despite the song's success, it simply didn't have the appeal or narrative to voters compared to other contenders. Swims being fairly low on the ballot probably didn't help either.

I'm actually more surprised that "Beautiful Things" got ignored, since it had such a great ballot placement. But again, voters probably weren't feeling it either. This also suggests than neither Boone nor Swims are likely to upset on BNA, especially with RAYE and Doechii both making it with unexpected support elsewhere.

Hoping:

AOTY- Hit me hard and soft

ROTY - Birds of a feather

SOTY - Birds of a feather

Best new artiste - Sabrina Carpenter

Best pop solo - Birds of a feather

Best Pop vocal album - eternal sunshine

Best duo - Die with a smile

MV - fortnight

Taylor's still my fav but HMHAS is so much stronger than TTPD this year. Billie deserves to sweep.

Ari should have been nominated more, especially for WCBF for pop solo. And she should have won that category for that stunning song.

Ugly racists may have got the election result they wanted this week but Beyoncé will ALWAYS keep her foot on their necks.

Yes, let's not forget that when Lemonade was nominated for ten she lost eight of them.

Meanwhile people complain that she buys awards.

Too late, the GP is finally seeing through all the PR and propaganda, and the comments on social media are already savage.

it's a good thing the GP doesn't get to vote :ryan3:

They're tired of hearing that damn song on the radio all the time as we are. :deadbanana:

I would be ok with it tbh. I think it's a cute album and basically has what it takes for a "perfect" AOTY: big hits, good sales, critical acclaim.

However the backlash against her on social media will be huge though :dies:

She might split votes with the other pop girls, that's my doubt about it.

We need to remember that this amount is in part because Beyoncé so brilliantly straddled genres that allowed her to receive nominations in multiple categories.

If you're mad at her total number, if you think your fave should have more, tell your fave to branch out and experiment in genres and see if they can then be recognized in those categories for making great music. If not, don't complain that someone else can and has.

If this nominations would've been for Renaissance aka HER BEST ALBUM that would be fair, but for CC? ...

Surreal to witness the year she's had. She obviously must win at least one of them, so she's going to be a Grammy-winning artist soon. :clap3:
